That demo had tons of boobs in it, so I'm pretty sure there's no way most gamers won't love the ever loving shite out of this game.

When you're married with 3 kids, one of those kids being one who likes to sneak out of bed and see what mommy and daddy are watching, there are certain games I just don't bother with anymore.

It is very hyped, however I doubt it ends up being a bad game. Just way too much talent and resources behind it for that. It's certainly possible it could fail to meet all the expectations.

Worst case scenario to me is that it's a bug riddled mess at launch at takes months of patches to get playable. It's an extremely ambitious and very large game so that's probably the most likely scenario of 'disappointment' possible.

They'll learn about alcohol eventually as well, but we'd rather it be on our terms.

I know you're joking around, but I get enough tough questions from her (12 years old). I'm not ready to explain why daddy is watching some cartoon naked lady while mommy is in bed.

That's why doors that lock were invented. Also, sounds like your sex life is non-existent. Prayers sent.

if the first person controls play out similar to Deus Ex, then I am ok with this and am even more excited.

I remember them giving a good reason for going first person when everyone was freaking out at E3. Can't remember what their thinking was.

The only reason they've given is that they think the world is super cool and they want to world to be showcased and seen in great detail up close. Which is a valid point, but I'm not sure if the potential trade off on gameplay is worth it.

Pondsmith told Polygon about his biggest takeaways from that demo during this year’s Gen Con. Those include his affection for the game’s controversial first-person perspective, as well as his appreciation for the developer embracing his universe’s moral and political themes.

“I got to wander through a lot more than was shown at E3,” Pondsmith told Polygon. “The sequences where you’re going down to the Ripperdoc and all that. There’s entire neighborhood areas in there where you can walk around and you can listen to people’s gossip.

“Because it’s in first-person, what I love is you get that stuff peripherally. You could be crossing to go down the street to get something and hear somebody say something [behind you], and you have to turn and figure out who said it in a crowd and where. You don’t have complete situational awareness, which makes it a far more powerful experience.”

quote:

Pondsmith said that the first-person perspective also lends the game’s combat a much more tactical feel.

“You stop doing your gameplay on a strategic level,” Pondsmith said. “You have to do it on a tactical, immediate level, because you don’t know everything. When you’re in third-person, you can look and see the entire battlefield, so to speak. When I’m in [first-person], I’m in it. Stuff that happens around me is coming to me at the speed it would naturally.”
