Sounds like the next patch will address the control scheme. I think I heard they’re also adding a storage chest.

Yea me too. I have Xbox elite controller. I just want to be able to map the rear paddles for more inputs. No idea why they are pre bound to XAYB already.

Just found out you can launch yourself up in the air while jumping off the horse, it’s awesome.

I saw this on a tips video that has helped with input delay. Especially when using aim and moving through items you are looking to gather or multiple people you are trying to sort through. Every movement feels a bit quicker and less janky.

Been playing on console. I'm enjoying it. My opinion on the reviews are that we are seeing gaming propaganda in real time
These folks are paid to early play and stream to give glowing reviews. No complaining. Then it gets released and the money dries up.
Then you have the streamers with crazy complaints.
The only real complaints from a console standpoint would be the controls but it's not a deal breaker. Just a complex game. Runs great. I think a lot of the other complaints are over kill but cannot opine about the PC play

I mean there are absolutely elements to this game that feel like they were designed by people who have never made a video game before.
That isn't always a bad thing though as even some of the things the game takes from other open world games is done in a unique, novel way.

I can say this much, my reliance on youtube for what should be basic tasks and puzzles has hit record numbers for me and I have only hit ten hours.
Take fishing for example. They toss a quick explanation up the first time you fish then it goes away. If you miss it and go into controls for a recap it only tells you how to cast and ignores what to do with reeling it in. There is not handholding a gamer and there is being obtuse about how to do it.
It feels like Red Dead 2 fishing but even worse. There are no indicators showing why the fish got away. To make matters worse I needed to fillet the fish for a quest. Hit the prompt on fish and ate the damn thing. You have to hold the use prompt to fillet it.
Edit: It also appears there is an issue with the Xbox controller and R Analog for reeling.

I think the combat in this game is awful. The trailers make it look like it's Platinum Games level but it's actually a shittier version of modern-day Assassin's Creed style combat. You get to these camps with like a million enemies and they all just bum rush you, and the controls aren't responsive enough to react

I am enjoying it, but it needs some serious fixes.
That said if you need a good laugh, many users are giving up really early. The Xbox reviews of the game are hilarious

I pretty much just force palm everyone then quick strike to get the immediate kill animation.

You see plenty of that too. Plus, people not being able to set an arrow on fire to clear the path in an early mission.
The devs do deserve some of the blame for having shitty tutorials and the way you have to make certain things function. The first time you get the memory helmet. I was not really paying attention as I was picking up that sweet coin scattered around. Walked out and saw the girl and cat so boom onto that little puzzle and new skill. So yeah, had to youtube it because it was just fing stupid how they implemented the activation of it.
I am not Asian dangit. Me no likey puzzles in inventory navigation.
