So have they overtuned the transfer portal? I was watching some of Esfand's stream (big SMU fan) and he had a frickton of starters leave just because he went 6-7 his first season. In my experience, the BIGGEST reason players enter the portal is because they just aren't playing enough, not because their team isn't doing well.

I got smoked as LSU in the opener against Clemson in the rain. Definitely feels a little tougher or I’ve gotten really bad in the last few months, maybe both

It’s definitely tougher. Heisman mode with a rebuild team is all about short passes and controlling the clock. I try to go downfield but my receivers drop 90% of the deep balls. Also last year you could sneak in a trick play - this year the QB panics and scrambles if the throw isn’t there immediately.

Eh, maybe a little. I played last night. Thought the game play itself was almost exactly like last years. Maybe even a little easier with db’s not making hero picks every game

I’m playing with LSU and there’s never any separation. The DBs constantly play zone and your WRs are never beating them

this is a dink and dunk game with over the top being a little more viable due to no eyes no int.

But as you guys have said receivers don't get open near as much.

You can user you guy and make some cool plays though.

It’s an absolute grind for me offensively right now especially compared to how I fared on NCAA ‘14 and before. I’m at a loss on how others move the ball so effortlessly. It’s sad

I hate there's no more online lobby where u can just randomly match up. Road to the CFP notwithstanding (can't do custom playbooks etc.).

If anyone wants to.add me and send me game request when ya see me online my psn is Honkus

It is all about finding your money plays and calling them consistently. I'd say most of the really good players probalby only generally use like 10-15 plays. As i've tested out different plays, there are some that just legitimately do not work no matter what. Either the blocking ai just doesn't register right or WR's consistently bump into each other or whatever. So, finding the handful of plays you know work the majority of the time and using them a ton.

I adjusted the defensive reaction time sliders to 60/40 as well as the pass and run blocking. That seemed to get things feeling a little more realistic, especially on pass coverages. DB's were still tight and hard to get a ton of separation, but they weren't just running the routes anymore. OL blocking felt more consistent where if I was playing an inferior team, usually had pretty good time to throw unless they blitzed well or a random 1v1 guy just won that battle. Playing against equal or better teams, it was a battle and had to still be very good with my shifts and adjustments. So, felt a little more realistic as well.

Seems like its hard to hit much downfield this year, coverage is much better. But I have been winning most contested catches if its 1 on 1 deep, even with smaller guys.

I've had some pretty sick jump ball TD's and stuff that have been fun but hilarious to watch. The CPU doesn't seem to do as well with those, can defend them pretty well, but I don't know if i've had a situation yet where they hit a very contested pass over the middle and my defender breaks it up. They are catching everything there.

If it’s 1-1 you can throw it, which is kind of how real football is, and not be scared of a bullshite int. Deep balls, especially in college football, aren’t supposed to be high percentage throws.

The only thing I think they didn’t do anything to is screens and play action. I’m playing with La Tech in dynasty so my o line is bad (but so are the d lines I’m playing against) and you get zero time to throw after the play action fake. And my qb still gets hit way to often and you can’t get him to make the correct trajectory throw on running back screens

True. That’s the answer to the question though. At least 10-15 is a decent amount of plays. Not just spamming the same 3-4 every down.

If you’re trying to just run through your playbook, you’re going to struggle. Now, I’m kind of lumping multiple plays into that count as there are some of the same plays that are run in different formations, but it’s the same play.

ETA: Also, for the sake of discussion, in the real world it is called "running it until the defense shows they can stop it"
