We need to bully SQE into using this combat system in ff17

I think there's a 0% chance of it happening but I did enjoy turn based FF more.

with metaphor and now this game we are at least getting some quality shite.

it's hard to find a skill tree for this game online. was gonna see what the leveling system looked like. on the streams i saw the streamer equipping different upgrades but that seemed to be something different from the skill tree.

I haven’t looked yet either but I figured there would be little info yet. It’s not Elden ring level where millions are playing and making content.

I have been fricking around with Lune and I think it’s her rock slide move or something. It’s high damage and even more damage with the right stains. I’ve got the rotation down and boy it’s my power right now.

I’m constantly getting Maelle into her V stance and then use Gustavo to buff them with attack power, do high gun damage to weak spots and then just let the two girls cook.

By the time they are prepped to unleash their attacks they all have attack buff and Gustavo has overdrive?/charge? At level 10.

It’s over.

Love this aspect of the combat.

What worried me most was the $50 price tag. How complex would the finer details on this game be with that price I haven’t seen in what feels like a decade.

So far it’s been perfect.

Maelle has a move that removes all the shields and lets her move again if the target is defenseless. Use her first turn to apply defenseless, burn it with lune which will allow her to move to virtuous stance whenever you like.

The pictos are different from skills. You will find an absolute frick ton of pictos, after they are equipped for 4 fights anyone in the party can equip their passive using lumina points. The biggest reason to equip them after that is their stats

As far as skills you can see what you can unlock and read it, the skill trees do expand but discussing any of that would spoil major reveals.

Monoco has an ignore shields attack. "Chevaliere Piercing." I'm currently running around gathering skills for him. I'm a sucker for these sorts of characters.

It's really really good. My wife is frustrated that I keep exploring instead of continuing the story.

My wife literally just told me to get out the shower and come play the game haha.

Apparently a movie for this was green lit back in January?

The game has a user score of 9.6 on metacritic which is the highest ever, the AAA industry looks like a dumpster fire.

For sure. Especially since she only hovers while running.

I use her to move around since her sprint doesn’t bounce.

Makes it more comfortable.

The amount of cosmetics in this game is insane. If this game was made by Ubisoft they would’ve all been cut out and sold for 5.99 each, as well as 1/3 of the map for a future 20$ dlc

I don’t think this is a spoiler since it’s a game mechanic but RA if it is.

Does anyone know the mechanic behind how weapons level outside of camp? It seems random to me as sometimes they will go up 1 level other times multiple for no discernible reason that I can see.

It's a drop of a weapon you already have, but a higher level. Instead of giving you duplicates of the same weapon at different levels it just treats it as an auto upgrade.
