Does anybody use any troops besides griffins? I thought there would be more balance where you would need troops of all types, but I can't find anything better than all griffins.
And I have 5 elite heroes but no legendary. I have always used badges to buy my heroes. I have about 3500 gems.. do I have a good chance of getting a few legendary using gems?

At least one or two. You'll never get anywhere without at least one or two legendary heroes

I feel like being able to fly over walls is too much of an advantage for the griffins.
Here's how big a dork I am. I have a spreadsheet with all the troop stats, and they're all broken down by damage and HP per space occupied.

OK, but it's kind of messy as it was intended for my eyes only. For example, on the stats/space sheet I just go in and manually edit the formulas when I upgrade a troop.

I would be cautious of spending badges. You will need them to upgrade heroes.

I know, I have 5 heroes at level 60+, 2 over lvl 50 and another in the 40s. It's just the badges are easier to come across than gems, and I play the game slowly.

What's a list of heroes that are worth leveling up and keeping?
Right now I've got a level 50 executioner, level 40 pain-da, level 35 hill giant?, level 22 assassin, level 25 alchemist.
Should I just wait and stockpile gems, and badges for rolling for legendary heroes, or should I keep a few of these around long term?

Ideally you want 5 legendary heroes. You should save the badges, roll the gems and see what happens. I always had better success doing 3 at a time.

I have been melding my dupe heroes together. Is this generally the best thing to do? I try to keep the one with the best talent.

holy shite. haven't you just been playing like 3 or 4 days?
I've been playing for a few days but my highest is only a level 39 executioner, lvl 35 engineer, lvl 35 alchemist, lvl 35 frost witch, and lvl 32 pain-da
