Buying a PS5; initial game recommendations?

I've mostly been PC bound for over a decade, but I got a wild hair up my arse the other day at the Verizon store and bought a God of War edition of the PS5.
Other than that, obviously, what do y'all recommend? I usually play RPGs, 4X, and nerdy shite like that on PC but I'm open to more action oriented stuff.

Horizon Forbidden West/ Zero Dawn especially if you have a 2021/2022 TV to hook it up to.

I recently did the same thing. I went ahead and got that ps + membership, I know I’ve gotten my money’s worth just catching up on what I’ve missed, Horizon ZD and some of the later Uncharteds, spider man Miles M was an absolute delight and don’t sleep on the Astro free game it’s pretty fun.

Cyberpunk 2077 with the PS5 update was one of the best gaming experiences I’ve had in recent years. Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West, Ratchet and Clank, Ghost of Tsushima, Spider-Man games, Last of Us (haven’t played part 2). Metro Exodus ps5 update is awesome too.

Never played any of them. Is this something I can do with backwards compatibility or do I need to frick around with emulators on my computer?

The PS4 GOW will play on PS5 as most PS4 disc will.

I wouldn’t say it’s required to play the first three, but I believe you can easily play them on the PS5.
