So Ive started buying parts to build my first desktop. I just purchased a AMD 5950X and poured it with the Asus Rog Strix X570-F mother board. Grabbing a 6900XT in the very near future. I need help picking out ram, if anyone has some good suggestions. I'm also stationed out in Japan so it's slightly harder for me to get some companies to ship to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck

Get some 3600mhz CL16 RAM. I got the Crucial Ballistix off of Amazon. 16GB kit for $85.

Thanks, They have them available out here constantly. I'm just waiting on the one that I want to come in stock. I appreciate the guidance on the RAM! Ram and NVME are incredibly over priced over here, so I will have to order anyways.

I highly recommend Crucial. I reached out to them after my computer flooded in 2016 and they sent me brand new 2x16 GB RAM when I only had 2x8gb before. They were the only company to reach back out to me regarding PC parts.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm flying to mainland next week and will hopefully have the rest of the parts to build the PC.

Why you get 5950x? Do you do hyper intensive rendering or encoding? Cuz if it's just for gaming the 5800x gives better gaming performance for like 2/3 the price. By the time the 5950xs core count will help gaming its IPC will be dogshit compared to a modern cpu and not worth it.

Uh the 5950x isn't slower than the 5800x in gaming. Look up the benchmarks.

If hes doing a bunch of other stuff aside from gaming, and he got a good deal, good for him.

Bump

Just purchased a 6900XT. Now the long wait for everything to come in. When it does I’ll list out all the parts.

I would not, to build a good one it is super expensive due to to supply chain.
