So normal players can't trade correct? Can guild members? Is there a guild bank?

Trading Player-Player is only potions and then the receiver has them bound and not usable except as the health/mana (ie: not able to use for crafting). That's it for the entire game, prevents gold sellers almost completely.
Guild membership is pretty much for endgame pvp and socialization. You do get paid daily to be in a guild, maybe get some buffs, really just a way to contact others for grouping up to farm mobs or other stuff.

Indeed, it can be kinda frustrating for progress, so I wouldn't focus on building a big empire until later on.

Talk to a node manager. You will either invest contribution points into the node or be sent to the node manager for a connected not if you don't already have it.

I'm just following the main quest line. At level eleven just went into cave to meet edan I want to start a profession.
I'd like to start crafting stuff, I guess I need a house and craft shop. Game needs to do better explaining stuff.

As a sandbox, it's nothing as complex as EVE. It's kind of a happy medium between a sandbox and a themepark.
