Varkids are possibly some of the most annoying enemies in the game.
I'm level 37 and I was a baddie and let 2 varkids evolve all the way into lvl 39 Super Badass Varkids. My face was raped so hard...

I'm taking a BL2 break for a few days. Tonight pissed me the frick off.
Level 31. Played nearly 4 hours
Steadily fighting mobs. Only accomplished 3 side quests and one main mission. Didn't rank up once. Haven't found a weapon worth a shite in 2 days.

And I think the only orange drop he does is class mods. I am basing this off of about 10 drops. Granted, all the purple and blue items are very nice.
Got a new head off of him as well. Look like a fricking pirates of the Caribbean reject.

So I'm currently level 38, but the story mission is level 40. No big deal, just do side quests, right?
The story mission has Sanctuary ported in the sky and I can't get back to it until I complete this mission. Can't turn in any sidquests there.
Level 38 me is getting raped by level 41/42 shite with skulls next to them.

He drops a head skin, relic,shield, and a class mod for all four characters. All I have found so far off his loot. I've killed him 50+ times. He may drop other legendary items. I also found an eridian grenade mod from his loot that's absolutely amazing. I throw my grenade and giant burst of fire start shooting from the ground.
