yeah, Little Sisters and their protectors, Big Daddys.
In 1, you were an outsider
in 2, you were a Big Daddy
Bioshock1 and 2 are set in Rapture, 1960-1968
Infinite is set in Columbia, 1912

wasn't there a little girl, with her monster, that was part of the other bioshocks?
big daddy and little sister.
they were the method of upgrading in the original game. you needed ADAM, which little sisters extracted from corpses. Big daddies were their protectors.
in order to extract adam from little sisters, you had to kill the big daddy that was assigned to them and then you had the option to spare or harvest the little sister.
that was the most controversial thing about bioshock. killing a little girl to get an extra boost.

go look at the Steam Community Page for Bioshock Infinite if you really want to give yourself gaming blueballs.
There are some spoilers. Ignore any user comments. Just look at the amazing screenshots and let your imagination run wild..

I know some are annoyed with the religious themes in the game and see it as an attack on Christianity but it's not, just like BioShock wasn't an attack on individualism and capitalism. Both games are about power and division caused by rigid ideology.
I really hope Infinite does well, because if people like Ken Levine aren't allowed to make games like this, my gaming interest dies.

Just played through the first legit rail fight. I've been saying gameplay is pretty similar to the others, but that was completely different and by far the funnest portion of any FPS I've ever played. I went from using the rail to escape the enemies to, about a minute later, using it specifically to get after them.

i think levine and the boys are libertarian, austrian economists from what ive seen

Yeah, a lot of people thought that the first one was anti-libertarian, but the whole place really went to shite because of non-libertarian policies (martial law and, IIRC, some industry was nationalized).
