BF3 to have a day 1 patch

With the Battlefield 3 beta set to end tomorrow, DICE has learned quite a lot from it, stressed tested their servers, looked at some gameplay tweaks, and so on. Most of the issues in the beta will be fixed before the game ships, however, a game usually has to be completed several weeks before ship date, in order to be certified by console manufacturers, and have sufficient time to be manufactured. This is usually referred to as “going gold”. But that doesn’t mean developers stop working on their products.

According to DICE’s Patrick Liu, Battlefield 3 will “probably” have a day-one patch, which will include feedback from the beta. Liu also pointed out that the beta is a real beta, and not a glorified demo as “betas” have become over the past few years. DICE has gotten a lot of feedback on Battlefield 3 gameplay, tested the servers and has received feedback on Battlelog as well (which has been updated during the beta).

As the beta ends tomorrow, we’ll have an in-depth article giving our impressions of Battlefield 3 over the past few weeks.

I've read some articles over the weekend and evidently DICE has been making the rounds with a very updated and close to finished product. The general feel from all the things I've read are:

1. Graphics upgraded big time on consoles
2. Single player is ho hum (standard CoD style)
3. Multiplayer is amazing

Typical FPS. Single player won't blow you away. Makes it's mark in multiplayer.

I'll usually play the campaign one time...but, I'm going to spend 99% of my time getting mauled in MP.

I'm a co-op nut, and I'm really curious about this one. Videos I saw definitely had a Rainbow 6 vibe to them.

I'll play the campaign to get most of the trophies. If I don't get them after the second play-through, forget it.

MP's where it's at.

Co-op missions sound fun though.

Yeah, I like a good coop. I wish they were the actual single player missions, but I think they're separate Spec Ops style.

So it ends at noon then correct? What the hell is CET? Did they mean CST? Either way, I'm willing to try this again one more time this morning. Anyone else off for Columbus Day on xbox and want to play?

Not off. Hate you.

I don't have any idea what CET is. Let me google........

Central European Time.

And from what I can tell, it's done for us. So confusing.
