I loved Ni no Kuni. And of course, BOTW. Would I like Xenoblade Chronicles 2?

Any updates on BOTW2?

I've heard Xenoblade is good, but I really didn't like the demo.

ETA: Demo may still be out there if you want to try it out

Thanks, that is the info I am looking for. There is no demo but I don't want to drop $60 if it isn't good.

Ni no Kuni shocked me it was dirt cheap and I loved it. Looking for another like it or a BOTW.

Ni no Kuni2 is not on switch.

I just watched a walk through of Xenoblade Chronicles 2- and I don't think I'd like it LINK

I would consider Luigi’s Mansion an RPG.

Highly recommend the game.

Secret of Mana looks good. Maybe they have updated the series? I played in the 90's

Eternity looks damned good but not on switch.

If you like Pokemon games, Sword and/or Shield are decent.

Just keep in mind that every time they release a new generation of Pokemon RPG games to the franchise, the gameplay gets a little more streamlined and user friendly. Back in the day you used to have to grind for hours to get your team ready for the next gym, now you can progress along the storyline at a natural pace and you tend to be about where you should be level-wise every time you reach a new challenge.

The only real grind is at the end if you want to literally Catch Em All to complete your Pokedex or participate in online competitions. The rest may go by fairly fast.

Also, I'm enjoying playing through Witcher 3 on the Switch. The Complete Edition comes with the 2 DLC packs.

Xenoblade Chronicles 1 and 2 are very fun once you get used to them as with every JRPG. If you can just take the time to look up the extra steps you need to remember to beat and grind for bosses, you’ll enjoy the games.

Xenoblade 1’s story in particular is great. Xenoblade 2 is more of an anime shonen with a lot of horny comedy mixed in.

It is very story driven and well written, imo.

Game is legit hard for me. I’ve had to grind a whole lot.

Not a dumb question at all. I am a gamer but took a loooong break raising kids. So it is all new to me. Thanks, I will see if there is a demo. I just found Dragon Quest *demo looking at Tales of Vesperia.

Any and all suggestions appreciated.

Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition is a GOAT RPG.

Top 5 or 10 easily.

XC2 is right behind it. I actually like it more, but XC just feels more important and focused.

Xenoblade 2 has a standalone expansion that's cheaper. It is slightly different and "improves" combat somewhat from the base game, but you should be able to tell if you enjoy the general look and feel.

I feel much better about recommending Xenoblade DE. It has some good quality of life enhancements, has a less anime-influenced art style, and is a lot less complex overall. Kind of feels a bit like a western RPG in parts.

I would also suggest Tales of Vesperia.
