I cleared the whole underdark and then went back up to take the mountain pass to do the orc chick's character quest. I got the susser bark but dont feel like i want any of those master forged weapons.

I just finished off pretty much everything in the shadowed lands except for Moonrise Tower. I just ported back to the Goblin camp in Act 1 and for some reason the goblins weren't happy to see me. They were all level 3, my group (me, Haslin, La'zel and Karlach) went through there like a hurricane.

I logged out after zoning into the Mountain Pass. I figure I'll go to the creche and clear out the rest of the map before going to Moonrise (that should put me at level 8 or so for Moonrise).

Most annoying fight thus far were those teleporting ambushers in the shadowed lands. The way I finally beat them was with my current group (no casters, since they Silence with their garrotes, and Haslin as a big ol' polar bear). Even then it took a while.

What’s absolutely insane is I did NONE of that. So many branches and alternate ways to get through this game

When I was doing that write-up it really struck me how many things have to happen in order to get to that point, things that are all ancillary to the main quest but not mandatory. I can't help but wonder what fights, quests and interactions I've missed by making the choices I have.

So I did have the nurses kill the freak doctor and I did get the lute but I had no idea what it was for

But yeah, it’s crazy how many pathways there are.

i just found out a few days ago that there is a prebuilt character option (i think you can still customize it as you want) called the dark urge. it basically gives you different options for you that can have huge game affects. you are essentially a psychopath. lol, thats probably going to be play through 3 for me.

this is a big spoiler warning, but dark urge meets gale.

I highly recommend letting Volo try to fix your tadpole issues.

This is definitely what I'm planning on going with for my second run as an evil playthrough.

I've been debating it. I don't know what other part he can play but allowing him to take your tadpole seems to be a gateway (because the conversation with him will not progress beyond it).

Some cosmetic impact to your character, but the side effects are well worth it to me.

The more I play this game, the more I understand why all the AAA studios are scared shitless.

cleared this a-hole and his friends yesterday. toughest fight yet for me. Gale got shoved into the spider pit and had to spend ~4 turns just walking back to the fight. Thankfully i had freed the spiders beforehand, and they were fighting with me.

collected all the goblin leaders' tadpoles. those powers are useful.

Guess ill clear the above ground Goblin Camp for XP, then return to the druids grove, then hit the Underdark. Still level 4. Not sure where else to go. MOuntain Pass gives me a warning that im too low level

If starfield sucks I'm definitely picking this game up.

There's a spider cave hidden behind some vines right next to the druid's grove (go right after leaving the grove, it's about at the midway point of the road's straightway, in the wall face on the right side of the road). Kill the phase spiders there, leave the big momma alone until level 5 (unless you're feeling frisky).

Do the hag down in the swamp.

Do the Zhents down below the Waukeen's Rest.

Do the well in the Blighted Village.

Do the gnolls (and the Zhent quest).

Hit the Underdark and kill new and exotic things.

Ditto for Grymforge.

Getting all of this done will have you well into level 5 before you step foot into the next Act.

I just hit level 7, Mountain Pass critters (at least the ones I've encountered thus far - speaking of which, eagles are pricks ) are level 4 but have health that's a bit higher than what I saw of level 4's in the Underdark.

For the completionists out there, I just stumbled across this gem: BG3 interactive map

Dror is a prick to fight at that level. On one of my attempts his first move was to charge my main so that he knocked me into probably the same area as you (although I didn't see any spiders). For me the key was being able to take him down first. After that, it's just a matter of healing holding out until the trash mobs can be cut down.

That treasure room makes it worthwhile.

I killed most of moonrise. Freed all of the prisoners which is the only thing that caused me to backtrack to last light and meet and old friend I was VERY excited to see. This series consumed so much of my younger years it makes it all that much sweeter.
