Im level 8 on my monk. They seem to hit more often and you get 3 attacks per turn, but you're squishier due to no armor. I use him for all the lock picks since he has high dex and cats grace armor is cloth. Told astarion to piss off when i met him so will probabky have to fight him in act 3

There is a set of gloves which allows rogues (including bards) to roll 2 d20 for lockpicking instead of one. My bard is already good with lockpicking but these gloves make him damned near a master at it. The only pickable lock I haven't been able to pick thus far was a metal door in Moonrise that required a 30 (a freaking 30!!). There are other gloves I could use to gain some benefits from casting spells, but getting so much easy loot access is just too irresistible.

It took me almost 20 tries to get this one. Yes, I save scummed. And I'm not ashamed.

Everyone wanted to bang me after saving those refugees. I followed that Shadowheart snail trail

I'm stuck on the damned Lorroakan fight. I beat him once but one of his fricking elementals had warped to the bottom level. I accidentally turned on the tower defenses (will have to research how to turn them off) before finding how to get down there. After I beat the last elemental the fight was still active because of the turrets (which killed me before I could find which pedestal turns them off).
Since that fight he's beaten me like I owe him money. He's got some sort of response spell in place which packs a motherfricker of a punch. I've hit the prick with a Silence arrow and he still responds (although putting up a Silence bubble seemed to work, until he jumped out of it).
Just read about using Hold Person (and hoping his save sucks), may try that this evening. For me, it's been the toughest fight thus far.

He and his summons wiped the floor with me a few times, but then I made 4 universal resistance elixirs and I think I used the Scroll of Otto's Irresistible Dance and had zero problems with him. This was on balanced though.

Thanks for the tip!

I used that on him then nailed him with a Disintegrate spell (available on the vendor downstairs). After that it was just a matter of healing Dame Aylin a little then taking down the elementals.
I was thinking I would get the stuff from Below, port down to the vaults, raid them of their goodies, rest then log for the night and try to get another couple of episodes of Rebels in the can before bed.
Fun fact: the Vaults go on for quite a bit.

Picked it up for PS5 yesterday.
Never played a game like this or DnD but I have been longing for a good turned based RPG. Saw the universal claim and decided why not.
Shortly after crashing I got to some church where I made a rock smash a hole in the ground.
I went down said hole and died to mobs because my party stayed up top. No biggie..I’ll just load back in up to the top and move on because I’m not prepared to take on those mobs alone.
Whelp my most recent load file was a loop on me falling down that hole solo..took me a couple of tries but realized I had to manually move my squad down the hole with me…awesome..surly I would win now.
No. I would fight this whole ordeal and these level two mobs for well over an hour as I had to figure out how this game worked.
Let me try this angle here. Let me try shooting this barrel that I think is explosive. Let me cast this rain thing and then cast some lightning…oops probably should do that with my party near…I loved every min of it.
I love Final Fantasy and I enjoyed the most recent entry but I hope the success of this game really makes them think about what the fans are wanting and craving for in an RPG.

Played a little of a new character on ps5 yesterday. Took a little getting used to the controls and there is a MASSIVE audio bug right now where you lose all audio.
Have to switch off 3d audio and change your audio type in system settings to fix it.

Yes! I had to do the same. No issues outside of that.
I was kind of worried about controller but it actually works well and feels smooth!

If you didn’t know, up on d-pad initiates jump so you don’t have to go into the menus.

What class did you select.
Also, that battle can be engaged in a much easier way. A recurring theme in this game.

Cleric…mostly because I saw a heal and some dmg potential…with some armor options. Apparently it’s a good class having researched it a bit more.
What’s crazy is my wife is also playing and she got in to that area a complete different way….we had two different stories to tell and experiences.

Huge! Thank you. It doesn’t do a great job explaining some things.
I had split my party somehow and they were not following me! Nothing online about ps5 controller info that I could find. Took me 20mins to figure it out.

Yeah. Group mode or party mode I think it is. A toggle underneath the character portraits on the left that makes them follow you or stand still. Very useful

The more I learn the more I love. Was a bit overwhelming at first with all the builds etc. I was often just attacking because I was afraid to waste a move using something I wasn’t sure how it worked.
But I quickly learned to save frequently before battles and started experimenting a bit more with moves and actions.

Turn-based combat is a bit of a different critter, but can allow for an almost endless set of strategies. I lost track of how many different strategies I used when trying to take down Lorroakan before I found one which worked.
