Why can you not be brought to a position to understand that there are aspects of gamepass itself that create conditions to where the necessary conditions or inducements arent there that are usually required for something to reach elite status? It is ok to admit this.

It is much the same way almost nothing ever on Netflix is elite.

Its really easy to drag this discussion down into a semantics debate about what is or is not "epic."

Like im sure fatkid considers Starfield epic, which is fine, and it was definitely without a doubt one of gamepass biggest non CoD success stories, but having not played the game myself, I am almost certain I would not consider it an epic or elite experience.

In fact I cant think of a single game built with gamepass in mind as a primary driving force that would be true for. This is a common theme people have been realizing for years, I am not some sort of visionary.

Idk why its so hard to talk about this with some people. I am not slandering microsoft or trying to tear down xbox and its fans. Sony is full of a bunch of chucklefricks that all need to be ousted to the void so Japan can resume control. I just think there is in an inherit flaw in the gamepass model that greatly contributes as an inhibiting factor to the quality of games designed for it.

It’s not that theyre trash or garbage or anything like that. They all just appear to be consistently and without fail all squarely in the mid camp. All 6s or 7s. I find it very interesting why that is even though I have a conclusion I am personally confident in

6 years for 30 hours of lackluster story and still marketed as an rpg and $70. If anything gamepass leads to more bad product because they offer guaranteed money just to get their muh day 1. Like netflix offering sandler 250 mil to make 4 films and wonder why they get crappy movies.

Then their 300 million subscribers watch the movie twice in 6 years and they say oh wow thats 2 billion hours of viewership lets give him more money!

That is essentially my point. Untethering yourself from the traditional supply/demand market takes away a lot of the past incentives to push for excellence or innovate instead of constantly repackaging old things in new ways like some sort of weird AI. Again its not that it produces like garbage trash like Concord or Dustborn necessarily, its more that it has a near seemingly infallible method of producing what people call today "slop."

And as far as the 30 hours long thing goes I havent played the game myself but I have been told that by 4 people who have already beaten the game. Took 27-32 hours between all 4 of them.

Numbers tell the tale. The game is not selling. No matter what the dumb articles are stating. I thought there would be a pop tonight in total and peak players but it didn't happen. 14k on a Friday night.

What a joke. The article stating it was outperforming KCD2. KCD2 has 93k people playing right now. 276k peak. Avowed 10k and 17k peak.

Typical journalism. Create a narrative even when all evidence proves said narrative is wrong.

Most reviews I have seen have been positive to somewhat meh. This isn't Concorde. Having said that, I wonder what the sales would have been like if that moron Dev had kept his mouth shut.

Dramatically higher. The era of societies apatite for any type of that shite is over. Now you have a substantially large pool of the audience who will not support it no matter what, you have a smaller but not really so small it is insignificant that just doesnt care and will buy what is actually good no matter what, then you have the "modern audience" these people attempt to appeal to with their games and rhetoric, which is so small it is statistically irrelevant. And im not even aware of any post modernist gay race communism in the game, as ive said ive spoken irl with 4 other based friends who have beaten it and none of them told me of any and they wouldve. It is simply people arent going to support that trash behavior.

That said this game has a lot more working against it than that. If you remember the first trailer it advertised a dark fantasy game about reclaiming a throne or at least becoming a king with a monotone voiceover setting a very dramatic and almost dark tone. Then microsoft/xbox basically didnt market this game at all. Then the game comes out and even though I dont think it looks bad, it isnt a veilguard situation here, it still has that "hello fellow kids" type of art style and not one in line with that first trailer.

I am actually shocked at the numbers. I know lots of folks get games the day they come out but I really thought Friday was going to pop.

A couple streamers I watch like it a lot. None of the reviewers I watch have hated it. Some like it some felt it was a bit over priced.

It certainly isn't being review bombed like other recent games. That is why I really wish we could see sales in an alternate reality without the dev making a fool of himself attacking the fanbase. Was that the problem? Was it the marketing? Was it the mediocre reception of Outer Worlds which I really liked.

Hell, I loved Grounded. I think it is hands down one of the best survival games ever made. I think Grounded hurt them even thought it was great. Their fans just didn't want a survival game. They wanted more CRPGs. They wanted the Outer Worlds sequel but they got a childish looking Honey I Shrunk the Kids game. It really was great but maybe that shrunk their fanbase.

For some reason, the trailers and game play just didn't grab me, then the nonsense with the dev. These days I just don't give people money if they hate me. Why should I? So many games and books and movies and other forms of entertainment out there. I don't need to give clowns my money.

I hope they learned a lesson and keep folks quiet leading up to the Outer Worlds 2 release.

This is a lesson they have shown they will refuse to learn without pain unfortunately. The gaming industry needs to be downsized by at least 50%. I welcome mass layoffs. Choke on it anyone who thinks thats "mean."

Yupppp. I haven’t put the NFL or the NBA on my tv since George Floyd and all that BS. Millionaire minorities telling me I’m fricking privileged? Because I’m white I should feel guilty and I don’t understand the struggle? fricking eat a bag of dicks mother frickers.

Life isn’t easy for me. It’s just easier because I follow the fricking law and I try to be a good person.

LSU football and LSU baseball is all I watch these days and by all means I’d easily do the same to them as well.

I watch UGA sports and pro baseball like the Braves. The MLB dabbled in wokeness but no where near as much as the NFL or especially the NBA. It also has a substantial amount of openly based players. I played baseball growing up. Those baws arent down with gay race communism, neither are the foreigners coming here to make generational wealth. I feel as if theyre still worth supporting. You have to pick and choose these fights I find.

Played this last night on game pass. I hate 1st person games so played it on 3rd person. It’s like Skyrim for retards. It’s amazing how much worse it is than a game that came out a dozen plus years ago.

This is pretty much right on the money 5 hours in

I usually try to give games a few hours before I give up on them. Couldn't make it past 1 with Avowed.

Maybe I will try again at some point, but I didn't find much compelling with it.

lol at this game, some of the laziest programming ever.

the comparisons to even oblivion are laughable.

everyone involved in the game should be fired, and obsidian needs to clean house.

Also, lol at 17k users, this game was hyped

I watched one clip of gameplay (combat) and it was genuinely terrible. Animations were horrble and the frame rate was embarassing. I passed the Skyrim comparison in my mind and went straight to Oblivion

It's not getting bombed because it's just being ignored altogether. It looks and appears to play like a mediocre game well behind its time unworthy of hype. I don't think the alternate reality is much different other than a few more suckers get tricked early. I also don't think the comments were as widely known, animosity towards it certainly hasn't been as strong as Veilguard, Concord, Outlaws, etc.

Ultimately the associated controversies didn't kill those games - they were just canaries in the coalmine of what was revealed to be slop on a fundamental level

Fleekazoid did a video on it

"Critics and reviewers are raving about how ok this game is."

I think we are all realizing that review bombing isn't real.

Every time that it is alleged, we all end up agreeing that the product was, in fact, dogshit.

Recent allegations:

The Acolyte
Star Wars Outlaws
Veilguard
Super Gay Dr Who

All "review bombed"

All ultimately almost universally agreed upon that the "review bombs" were accurate.
