IGN surprisingly gave it an 8... 8 Great: Assassin’s Creed Mirage's back-to-basics approach is a successful first step in returning to the stealthy style that launched this series.

Everyone says the return to the old school early AC days for combat/assassin/stealth/parkour is a lot of fun.

Guess I'll sub for a month to Ubi+ and beat it since like the older games it's also only 15-20 hours.

quote:

Recap from the video:

The environment is denser and livelier, the game focuses on a single more unique city rather than a full world, tougher combat with more focus on stealth, no levelled enemies so the hidden blade is a one-shot kill again, and more methods to avoid detection or break line of sight.

Sounds pretty good surprisingly. Like they reset the clock and reimagined Assassin's Creed 1 with modern production standards.

I expected this to be shite and a non play for me, but hearing it's a modern AC1 and yeah I'm sold.

I quit at about 50% through on the last one.

Was craving an old AC1 style stealth game again. This sounds like it will perfectly scratch that itch and now I'm excited.

Just released at midnight, installing now.

Also just realized this game is $49.99. Makes sense for an AC1 shorter style, also only 38GB download.

I still cannot, for the life of me, understand how they haven’t done feudal Japan AC.

I haven’t played through an AC game in years. Maybe the Ezio series? Is the Animus and genetic memories still part of the storyline?

I like the stealth gameplay for sure. But I also really enjoyed Valhalla. The lore, the environment, and the endless amount of things to do.

This is my thing. Why can’t they do both?

this is a good thing. i love vikings and that setting but god damn was Valhalla too much shite. i RARELY put a game down before finishing it once im deep into it. i had to with that one.

i have been excited to see AC go back to roots and a smaller package is welcomed. the release date crept up on me. will have to finish up my current game and check it out.
