Pro: Sekiro meets God of war
Con: weak story
Does not compute! I probably will wait until it goes on sale since I have a backlog (finally need to play Demon souls) but I have really been following this game. It looks pretty solid.

Who or what has claimed this will be anything like Sekiro? I mean it could be but the footage released to me doesn’t resemble Sekiro at all. Sekiro is one of my favorite games of all time and top FromSoft game so don’t get me wrong I’d love nothing more to have quality game take influence from it. Best so far that’s done it imo is lies of P.

The post I replied to had that comparison in a tweet.
I didn't really think of sekiro when I was playing Lies of P but I did enjoy that game.

It definitely has a number of inspirations at times bordering on near plagiarism. Sekiro is one with the perfect parry system, another extremely obvious one is Bloodbourne. There’s non FromSoft stuff as well. But many many games have tried to replicate the perfection of Sekiro just like all the other FromSoft titles and they all fail usually horribly because no other studio seems to get what makes from games special.

Currently sitting at 82 on Metacritic based on 39 reviews.
ETA: Seems like the game is anywhere from 30-50 hours (I imagine it'll be on the lower end for most players).

I'll keep tabs on it since I enjoy a good action rpg. I still want Nioh 3.

So similar rating that stellar blade got which was an 85 first if I remember and roughly same game time. I absolutely loved stellar blade and have played it like 5 time. Bodes well.

A lot of PC reviews mention performance issues, so hopefully those get ironed out with post-release patches. I'm a bit concerned that PS5 footage and reviews aren't out.

Yeah that’s a major red flag. Probably embargoed until as soon as possible before release which is never a good sign

I enjoyed Wo Long, but Nioh 3 would've been preferred for sure.
