Started playing it last night. Very fun game, really enjoy the narration/commentary.
Game is clearly set in a fictionalization version of Louisiana and the main villain is a quintessential Cajun.
The controls can be a little stiff and if you get too much going on on the screen at once, the vfx start to suffer, but once you start leveling up and unlocking the ridiculous abilities, it gets crazy.

Have not even heard of it. Looks pretty wild. May get it.

It’s only $40 too and searching for collectibles has rewards both xp and hilarity wise.

Plus I can imagine it's narrated by Cyril Figus.

First area is "Fawtick" bayou. You can tell they glanced at a map of La.

Lot of pop culture reference. Great one in the second area..
So satisfying leveling up in the 20s and going back to the bayou and running woodshed over the gators who gave me shite in the beginning. Same thing with beating the hell out of Hammerheads with your tail.
But frick them orcas though. One came out of the abyss before I realized what he was and came straight for me, first bite took a quarter of my health, so I hauled arse and thought I ditched him but the next thing I know, Willy was hot in my arse and took another quarter of my health. Had to make a beeline back to the lake to ditch him.

I heard it was fun but got super super super repetitive. Every review I saw mentioned that.

I’m not quite half way through the story and probably about a third of the way to 100% completion but it doesn’t feel repetitive in the micro sense. I mean yeah in general you are eating a frick ton of fish, exploring, and fighting other predators, but I’ve put in at least 6 hours and I have yet to feel one moment of boredom.
It is well worth the $40.

Down to $33.88 on Amazon already. Seems like a perfect future Game Pass game.

They could have done a lot of stuff to make combat more interesting, like a better target lock system, and actual combo attacks. But I still think it's a lot of fun. I definitely enjoy the 3 dimensions of movement that swimming affords you, and the levels are very well designed.

Yeah there are some obvious areas for improvement and growth in the game. Hopefully the story leaves open the possibility for a sequel, I’m down for it.

Is it a souped-up version of Hungry Shark Evolution?
That's what it looks like.
