Been a gamer since Asteroids coin op came out in the early 80's. Ive had a PS4 forever. But over the years I have played it less and less. (With the exception of the 2K basketball games.)
That being said, my kids got me the VR setup for my PS4. Total game changer. Im playing again like I was a teenager.
Anyone else here play vr?

Was thinking about getting one. You can hook up PSVR to PS4?

Im running it on PS4 now. Might up grade to the PS5 for xmas.
Its the video resolution. On the PS4 there is a little grainy look to it on some games. Its easy enough to ignore for me. Its better on PS4-Pro. And should be fantastic on PS5. I thought it was the VR headset, but i have learned its the processing power of the PS Box.

You want a good VR experience, then you need to play Half Life Alyx on an Index.

PSVR is meh.

I picked up my PSVR on a whim (and a sale) over a year ago and remember thinking to myself as I drove home how dumb a purchase it was. But I was wrong. I've played it way more than I anticipated and have had a ton fun.

It was a good budget option to get a look at VR and see if it's for you if you already had a PS4. However, if I was starting with VR right now, I'd probably go with the Oculus Quest.

Having said that, I highly recommend Astro Bot Rescue Mission. It's a glimpse at what might occur if Nintendo ever makes a VR Mario game.

If I wasn't putting money into my shop, I would purchase an Index.

Also if they had another game I'm interested in playing, nothing on VR seems like something I would enjoy.

But yeah, I need to play Alyx. Sucks the ending was ruined for me.

Yeah, 99% of all the games are very gimmicky. Alyx was mind blowing. Boneworks was close, it's a very good game, but Alyx just did everything better with the exception of melee. Alyx skipped melee entirely. Blade and Sorcery with mods is great, but doesn't have a story to it. Gorn is a blast for a melee gimmick game, it's coming to PSVR.

VRChat has been a godsend during stay at home though. It's always a blast to gather a bunch of people in my movie room and watch something and get drunk. Movies made for 3D inside of VR are pretty trippy too. Big screen is fun too.

Like all Valve games.

I wish they would really start putting out more titles.

It is almost 10yrs since Portal 2.

I've got the psvr and resident evil was the scariest shite I've ever seen

Superhot looks cheesy but once you start playing you won't stop. Dodging bullets as you throw ninja stars is awesome

Astrobot is a great platform game too. Really shows you what they're able to do in vr as far as that genre is concerned.

#1 recommendation is resident evil though.

Im on PSVR, Skyrim , No Man's Sky, and RE:7 are some of the best gaming experiences in my life.

If you get the AIM controller (a rifle) and you can then Play DOOM VFR, Borderlands, Farpoint (underrated as hell IMO) and Firewall Zero Hour and those are still some of the best VR FPS's out today, mainly because of how immersive the AIM controller makes it.

No Man's Sky is still kinda bad with the Index. They have a lot to improve.

I think the enjoyment would come from just watching other play the game. You know that’s got to be hilarious!

I've got a Rift S and I lose time on it like I did in the early days of Everquest. I am sloooooowly going through TWD: Saints & Sinners (slowly because it's just so damned much fun sneaking around and looting places that I haven't gone along the story path much).

When the weather was a bit cooler at the beginning of the shutdown I moved my laptop and Rift S outside to play. The extra ambient noise from the actual outside world added a whole extra depth.

At one point I was crouched at a street corner seeing if there were any zombies before I ran across the street. I looked to the left, nothing there.

I looked to the right, nothing there.

Just as I am about to make my move I hear movement to my left so I look back and... nothing is there! What the...

Then I realized it was my dog walking by on the patio
