Looking for something interesting but a bit obscure, indie or just a hidden gem.

It would be helpful if you posted an exhaustive (as possible) list of RPGs you've already played.

Yeah... I kinda figured after the post.
Remembering the ones I've played can be a bit daunting, but here goes:
Cyberpunk 2077
Baldur's Gate 1, 2, 3
Dragon Age 1, 2, 3
Witcher 3
Pathfinder (Wrath of the Righteous and Kingmaker)
Skyrim (Obviously), Oblivion, Morrowind
Fallout 3, NV, 4
Shadowrun Returns, Shadowrun Hong Kong
Horizon Zero Dawn
Vampire: The Masquerade
Greedfall
Icewind Dale 1 and 2
Borderlands 2
Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2
KOTR 1 and 2
Hope that helps.

Pretty extensive damned list. I won’t be much help, as my RPGs have been pretty mainstream. I would second Mass Effect, and I would add that contrary to popular belief, the first two Witcher games are worth playing.
Beyond that, I’ll be keeping an eye on this thread, and being sad that odds are the new Vampire:TM will never actually see the light of day

Disco Elysium is your choice

I did not like Divinity either I or II, but Pillars of Eternity I and II might work for you

Get a steam account if you don't already have one. All of the final fantasies are there, some dragon warrior/quests are there. Try the Torchlight series (1,2,& 3), some of the Star Oceans are on there. You will find more RPG's main/indie/obscure all over steam. They usually have helpful reviews of the games. If that doesn't do it for ya, make an account at gameoldies dot com. Every Nintendo, SNES, sega.....any game ever made back then, is playable in your browser. If you can't find something to play there...find another hobby.

DOS2 as mentioned. My favorite RPG for PC in my last 20+ years of PC gaming.

Final Fantasy XIV.
It's technically a MMORPG, but the Main Story Quest (MSQ) is one huge single player RPG.

Can I add for any recommendations for IPAD and PS5?

Don't listen to Dro. Divinity II is a tremendously awesome game.
I would second the Witcher 1 and 2. Backstory, I didn't play Witcher 3 until months after release because I hated the tutorial from Witcher 2 so much it killed my interest in the franchise. I think that tutorial killed any interest in the Witcher for a lot of folks.
Witcher 1 and 2 have wonky combat mechanics but once you learn the mechanics, the game plays just fine and I really wanted to get some of the backstory. If you loved the story in Witcher 3, then it is certainly worth it going back in time to get more lore.
Definitely Pillars 1 & 2. Not nearly as deep as Pathfinder but still worth a play.

Don't own a PS5. Every time I've bought a console I end up gaming on my PC anyway. Old habits I guess... only thing I ever really end up playing on consoles are sports games.

You've got the classic D&D lineup on your list but it's missing Planescape: Torment
So your first order of business is to play Planescape: Torment.

I've actually played it already :)
Damn those old school ones were brutally unforgiving. I started it up recently and forgot how little that game gives you to start, but man does it have an amazing storyline.
It just slipped my mind that I had played it - honestly that list is probably 50% complete. My memory isn't the greatest until I see the name or the game itself, then I can start recalling a lot of bits from them.

Divinity Original Sin 1&2
Pillars of Eternity 1&2
Wasteland 2&3
Disco Elysium
X-com 1&2
I'd agree on playing Witcher 1&2 as well.

you said obscure so i may suggest wildermyth. small bite sized stories that you develop heroes for and can transfer from story to story. very much indie and cutsie. simple turn base combat but got alot of heart and replayablility. i enjoyed it alot.
