flipped my recruiting settings to auto, ended up winning the ‘ship but had a class of 2!!!! I didn’t get anyone in the transfer portal either

the recruiting is too difficult to ignore. I'm actually more engaged with the recruiting than the games right now.

Once I get a HC job I plan to completely revamp my offensive style at some podunk school

Same. I can't wait for a companion mobile app or a website that you can do your recruiting on. I'm on my phone/computer a lot more often than I can get on my xbox. Would love to reserve xbox time for game play.

So I decided that I was going to leave FSU and take a HC job at the end of year 3 (year 2 at FSU) because I would have finally unlocked one of my recruiting skills for finishing with two top 5 classes. I had currently had five 5 stars that I was #1 for and was most likely going to sign… I decided to peruse the prospect list and saw five more 5 stars interested me so I decided to add them to my list….. I quickly realized I had screwed up. It wasn’t another five 5 stars it was the same ones I had already been recruiting. Because I thought I had selected them it actually removed them. I tried desparately to add them back to my list and while I was still #1 on their list, I had lost all my work for the week and no longer had any hours to commit to them for that week. All 5 signed with Florida the very next week. So with that, I decided to stay at FSU one more year to try and get that top 5 class as I finished at 8.

The moral of this story is to make sure you aren't an idiot like me and accidentally remove guys from your list thinking you are actually adding them.

My two biggest gripes about recruiting right now:

1. It still takes place in the background once you get to CCG weekend and through the playoffs but you have no control over it.

2. Not being able to schedule guys for visits even if you are in their top 3/5 and have dates available (I hear that a patch is either out to fix this or on its way).

I wish we had a little more control over what we can ask recruits they are interested in when we speak with them. I don’t care how interested they are in Proximity to home if I’m a C in that.

The not being able to schedule visits bug is pretty bad.

I would love a skill you could unlock that let's you do custom hard/soft sells so you can choose your 3 instead of the preset options.

Absolutely. They have a great foundation I just hope they listen to the right feedback and not listen to the cheesing “pros” or the idiots who want 864739 different equipment options

in 4 years i brought WKU to 2 national title games and won 1.

i then took the FSU job in hopes LSU will be interested once i win some more there.

rebuilding WKU was fun as shite though.

Yea the maddens pros shouldn’t be listened to at all. I’d prefer to toss them from helicopters

I like the idea of unlocking a custom pitch and being able to push that. I feel like they have had that in the past

The worst part of it is the computer schedules visits for the conf championship week and the open week after (or maybe the week before) but you can't schedule anyone those weeks. I've lost several prospects those weeks after they did a visit to another school.

I’ve heard complaints that past year 3 and 4 that it’s really rare to get a 90+ overall player

Is this true?

Can you make your recruits a 99 by adjusting their ovr?

I remember in 2014 you could make up a kicker with 99 throwing power and switch his position to QB before the season started.

I can't recruit for shite. I pulled a 5 star receiver and DE, about 10 4 start players and the rest 3 star (only pulling 30 total recruits) after taking UL Laf to a 2nd national title game and being 4 star prestige. I have no idea what I'm doing.

ETA: I also can't get them above 85 overall. Is that normal for year 4?

This was my question earlier in the thread. I’ve heard on Twitter you have to put skills into some kind of developer skill tree to get them higher. Any truth to this?

Click the right(I think) joy stick. That will bring up a roster by position and # of players to help you identify "needs"

That sounds like some pretty amazing recruiting for a ULL program. I'm wrapping up year 2 at UTSA and have only been able to pull ~15 3 star players per season.

Did you read that I went to 2 national title games? 4 star prestige school?

I failed to mention that I moved them to the SEC and Vanderbilt to the Sun Belt. Maybe that matters. UL is a prestigious establishment now. A+ coaches and everything.

I rarely use a soft pitch. If you can get two parts of the pitch unlocked you can usually use trial and error to get the final one, but be forewarned this is not a guarantee as there is some crossover between pitches.

I’ve altered my strategy a bit, related to soft sells.

I mentioned in the larger thread that I cannibalize hours to schedule visits, well I now reduce them down to a soft sell plus any other available hours in the week I schedule the visit. That way I can (1) confirm/figure out what the hard sell should be (2) it seems to be worth a little bit more than the 25 hour “friend and family” pitch but for only 20 hr.

Since I’ve switched to that method, I’ve only lost 1 recruit that I’ve pushed for and that recruit was on a visit when I lost to the team he committed to.

Also, quick tip, be sure to check dealbreakers before doing hard/soft sell. I’ve noticed that many times the dealbreaker is the 3rd green check that hasn’t appeared yet. Makes it easy to figure out what the ideal pitch is.

Maybe if you are at a bad G5. I just started year 3 of my South Carolina dynasty and my starting MLB is a 93 overall true sophomore that I snagged in my first recruiting class.

I try to make it as close to real life as possible. Boring I know.
Every year I must sign:
1 QB
1WR
4 OL (prefer 5)
1DE
1LB
1-2CB

After that I target best available impact guys.

I use similar techniques to you guys with busts
