The bootleg cards were legit, they were for the correct series and they all worked. They are the tiny form factor (1 1/2" tall x 1" wide) rigid plastic cards with the character card printed on one side and a generic ACNH background printed on the other. They are boxed in clear plastic hard cases with removable lids (two hard cases were in the package - half the cards in one, half in the other).

Got the star fragment Kapp’n island tonight. Lots of fragments from rocks, and then I should have some from wishing on stars, as well.

Article I read the other day said the rare islands hit at about a 22% chance, with there being a date-tied component to it. The example the article gave the snow island a date of Feb. 24th.
That means if you've already experienced Feb. 24 of 2021 on your island, then you have a shot at getting the snow island. If you started playing after Feb 24., then Feb 24 2022 will need to roll around on your island before you can get the snow one.

Watching Mrs. Vox play her Island, I have to share this genius pro tip: She carries a Storage Shed around with her when she's on her own island, that way she can break it out and put bulk items like veggies, etc in storage on demand and not have to make a trip back to her house.
Obviously, it doesn't work on Harv's Island or anywhere you can't Place something, but when you're at home, it's like having an Infinite Bag of Holding with you.

I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out the optimal place to integrate one into the exterior of my island where it looks natural and is around when I need it and I've been coming up short because nowhere seems right.
Please thank her for me. This is brilliant.
ETA: I had paid off my mortgage a long time ago and immediately bought all the storage up when the update launched, and didn't realize the nook miles recipe for the storage shed is gated behind the first storage expansion, so nephew can't get it himself. I'm guessing I can make him one but it's so many mats I don't want to risk it if it's somehow locked to me when it's done? Does anyone know?

I never found a new list so I am going with the old one and hope it is right. I got everything except the barred knifejaw and the Dungeness Crab. They are hard to find, especially the crab.

I haven't done it yet. I just gathered the materials. From what I read this morning, I think it is slightly different. You get recipes for the dishes he makes to add to your food recipes. Not sure if anything else is different or not. It is possible you have to use carrots and flour in some of the stuff he asks for.

I think it must have been different for different people... in other words, it was random. Two of my villagers asked for things that were not on the list, yellow perch and seaweed. Franklin asked for the things on the list. I was really surprised he didn't ask for any of the new crops we grew. Carolyn gave me a carrot though.
