Hope it does help someone, a lot of this is Stuff I Wish I Knew Before

New DLC tip of the day: at some point you're going to get access to using DIY items to decorate vacation homes, but only DIY items you've crafted at least once before.

Also: Today try to buy some turnips from Daisy Mae. She'll mail you a cooking recipe tomorrow.

More DLC Info:

To unlock Counters and Pillars, you have to do a certain number of homes and then the monkey will set up a materials box beside the DIY bench upstairs in the work office.

There's a note inside that will tell you what materials he needs. There is a chest of drawers to the left of the locker where you can change your work outfit, and that chest accesses your home storage (for an easier way to grab mats).

Once you give the box what it needs you'll do the happy mortgage paid off sound/dance, and the next day the monkey will stop you when you get off the plane and load 3 new recipes to your Nookphone. A Pillar, a Low Counter and a Regular Counter of whatever material he was fishing for before. The materials box will then have a new note in it of what he wants next.

It sort of becomes a daily at that point, you can only unlock one family of counters/pillars a day.

So far none of what he's asked for has required a huge amount - a lot of times it's 10 or 15 of something. You can 'donate' a 30 stack and it'll remove what it wants out of the stack, you don't have to be precise and it won't take more than it's asking for. It's all normal mats it's looking for - clay, stone, iron, woods.

Good info. I did the first island task of the reading room for the elephant and I haven't been back since.

When you go back, just know you can do the literal bare minimum and as long as the three pieces of furniture they asked for are in the room they don't really seem to care what else you do.

I've had some houses I spent 15-20 minutes on because I liked the theme and got into it and some where I threw a new wallpaper/floor on and added like five more pieces of furniture that had the red 'they'll love it' dot by them, and shoved them against walls and said 'done', and I got paid the same amount no matter how much work I did.

It seems to increase 3k every time you hit a milestone - at 20+ houses I'm making 15k per house. You do not have to use any of the new techniques you learn as you level up to make the higher salary, it's purely based on the number of homes you've done.

It sounds like at 30 homes I'm going to get some kind of K.K. Slider Music Festival on my beach, and there are a few other facility buildings they're hinting we're going to develop soon but I don't know what they are of if they will unlock before or after K.K.

Speaking of which...

Must he set up his stool right in front of the door at Resident Services?

Take that shite to the Roost, man.

That would make sense, right??

There's got to be a better venue in town than six inches in front of city hall.

Somewhere between 20 an 30 homes I just unlocked an ABD machine in the DLC home office that lets me deposit Poki, Withdraw Poki, and exchange Poki to Bells or Bells to Poki with a daily exchange rate posted. I believe she said I can only exchange once per day.

I'm going to keep an eye on this thing because there's a chance I might be able to play it like the turnips market and flip a profit somehow, maybe. Right now my rate is 100 poki for 222 bells.

ETA: Looking it up on Reddit, it looks like it's not once per day but there's a specific amount per day you can exchange. Someone said 30k Poki, someone else said 15k Poki. So not something worth spending a lot of time tracking I guess, but probably worth waiting for a day where Bells net me more Poki if I want to move some of my Jeff Bezos island money into Poki to buy things from the Wendell catalogue.

I just invited my first villager from my home island to the vacation island using the souvenir chocolates.

You give them to the villager as a gift like you would any other gift that might level up friendship. They realize it's from the resort island you work at and you're given the option to go with them immediately to the resort island. They get excited and go wander off on the beach to 'explore'.

Once you've gone inside and changed into your work outfit, when you come back out the villager is chilling on the beach with idea bubbles about what they want in a vacation home.

It works exactly the same as any other time you've sold someone a house so far, but apparently after you've gotten K.K. to come do his Fyre Fest shite, you will unlock the ability to remodel their houses on your main island. Which is great because I have some starters in their starter houses full of the most inane garbage I've given them over the years to befriend them and because they ran up to me screaming they wanted to buy what was in my pockets.

Not long after you get the ABD at the DLC Home office, you get the chance to do your next facility - a hospital.

When you're done there are two things you can talk to the Receptionist to do:

1) Donate up to 120k Poki to add a patient wing to the hospital
2) Ask to see the doctor. Gives you a few 'symptoms' to pick from. Told her my knee/leg hurt. Had me sit down and wait to be called. Went back to see the doctor. I told him my knee hurts and he gave me a Cast. Which was basically a pair of shoes that make one foot look like it's in a cast.

Going to take a bit to get 120k Poki to see what the patient wing does.

When moving Bells to Poki, I can get up to but not over 30k Poki for whatever Bells I'm slinging that way. I wonder if it's gated differently for Bells to Poki than from Poki to Bells?

My exchange rate, when I go from Bells to Poki, is 100 bells = 46 Poki and it's letting me drop 65,200 bells into 29,992 Poki. If I try to do it a second time, it warns me 'The daily limit for exchanging Bells into Poki is approx. 30,000 Poki. Please use our services again on a future day.'

I paid off the Patient Ward of the hospital and so far nothing cool is happening there so IDK what's up with that yet. I heard Daisy Mae was supposed to show up but she sure didn't yet.

I did hit 30 homes though, and it's letting me build an Apparel Shop in the last open facility as the last step before the music festival. Credits roll as the music starts, featuring pictures I've taken. I regret some of these homes as they scroll by.

ETA: If anyone asks you to go dancing after you've already seen the credits, it's going to run the credits again and I can't find a way to get it to stop without just sitting here listening to the whole song and watching it all over again.

Post-credits, things are kicking into gear.

I learned a bunch of new Dance emotes.

Next Day, Tom Nook calls and offers you the chance to remodel villager homes on your main island. It's now baked into his consulting services menu options in Resident Services.

When I went to the DLC island, a Newt named Nat with a bug net was wandering around the way Leif was, lost and in need of the school. Once there, he teaches everyone how to use Bugs in designs now, letting them freely roam people's yards.

All of the ugly decorations Niko put out for DJ K.K.'s music festival are gone, thankfully.

I halfassed a lot of things that I need to go fix, but I have absolutely no regrets about choosing Cephalobot as my doctor for my hospital or naming the apparel shop 'Holy Forking Shirtballs'.

I snagged some Series 5 amiibo cards at Target online (not in-store) this morning. Not sure if they are sold out now or not but keep an eye out if you want some. It seems like they are re-stocking them.

ACNH 2.0.2 Patch Notes

I got sidetracked refurnishing my ACNH house but I've done a few more homes in the DLC and you keep unlocking stuff as you keep going.

At some point I've gotten more Soundscapes, my pay has bumped up again, and I got the ability to add an upstairs gallery to the Cafe.

It looks like Sunday nights (after you've unlocked DJ K.K. before), DJ K.K. will float in to the DLC island on his party barge. The party decorations are back and festival gear is on sale in the apparel shop. The shop owners will ask if you wanna go dancing which will kick the credits off yet again. You don't seem to get anything from him if you do it.

If you buy at least 1 turnip from Daisy Mae every Sunday she seems to keep giving you cooking recipes that involve Bamboo Shoots.

My knockoff cards are getting here today so I'll see if I got ripped off or not.
