Had to check my calendar to make sure it wasnt April 1st. Just finished my first re-play of AI since 2014. Played it on easy so I could enjoy just exploring with out having my nerves shredded going around every corner.
Still was not a walk in the park. The game still holds up incredibly well. Hope this sequel doesnt die an early death in development.

The creative director of Alien: Isolation, Al Hope, has announced a sequel to the horror game. He shared the announcement on Twitter to celebrate the game's 10-year anniversary.

"Today, I'm delighted to confirm, on behalf of the team, that a sequel to Alien: Isolation is in early development," Hope explained. "We look forward to sharing more details with you when we're ready." While he didn't provide any other details, logos on the announcement suggest the game will be developed by Creative Assembly and published by Sega, just like the first one.

I was thinking of getting this on gamepass. So it's worth a run?

If you are an Alien fan I'd say its def worth it. It really captures the sights and sounds of the original film. Its a fairly long and difficult game though.. Sometimes down right frustrating by design.

but when it all come together in moments where you are tiptoeing through a hallway, with emergency light strobing, alarms blaring, with the sounds of other station dwellers getting slaughtered meters away and your motion tracker is pinging...there's nothing like it.

I actually "enjoyed" it more playing on easy mode the second time . It still wasnt a walk in the park and just navigating the Sevastopol Station can be challenge in and of itself.

Hopefully they pay attention the complaints about the first one. The sequel needs to be literally half the length of the first. Pacing is more important in horror than any other genre, and they failed in that department the first go round. The five fakeout endings were egregious.

12 hours TOPS with incentives for replayability should be a priority.

The first time I played it on hard about 80% through then just had enough towards the end and switched to normal. It was a slog...an overall enjoyable one but still a slog. When I played on easy mode on the second run and was not getting as slowed down as much in certain sections I really didnt feel the game's length and really enjoyed it. I think its just the constant state of high tension at some point switches from fear to frustration after a while. I think thats why McCaffery at IGN gave his legendary low score. I can imagine it sucked playing that game on hard on a review time crunch. So yea they should shorten it or add some new gameplay elements to the mix.

Id love for them to make half the game like Isolation and perhaps another half more like Aliens with more creatures, NPCs and more action. Like a good Colonial Marines FPS.

Alien Isolation was a flawed but great title.

Excited to see if the sequel can improve on the formula and deliver an excellent experience. Looking forward to hearing more about this.

Yes, that's the delicate balancing act of horror game development

Recently replayed this and was hiding from the Alien only to have a goddamn Android reveal my hiding spot resulting in the android kicking my arse and then alien finishing me off
