The first Alan Wake is essentially a flashlight combat simulator.

Has anyone gotten to the part where Saga says something about another "White a-hole deciding what I get to do?"

I keep saying AW2 has a True Detective/Twin Peaks vibe and I guess this confirms that was their goal

Just played through chapter 4 of Alan Wake's storyline (as opposed to Saga's) and holy shite. The game design is just insanely good.

Based on this Alan Wake account tweet, it seems like they're going to add an NG+ mode this month

i finished up control last weekend to prep myself for this.

hows AW2 holding up? everyone still pretty positive on it now that the newness has worn off? I didnt love controls story, it was ok. i was pretty ready for it to be over by the time in wrapped up.

(yes i am aware the gameplay between the 2 are vastly different).

I was hoping for more plot development.

I appreciate what remedy is trying to do, but when you analyze the events of 2, it feels like we are essentially right back at square one.

The scope of the things introduced in the remedy-verse are so large in scale or purposefully nebulous (the board, the dark place, ahti, etc), but it seems like it will be hard to get any sort of meaningful resolution from it.

I like the setting, I like the characters, I like the creativity, but I don’t know if I like the sum of its parts.

Finally finished it (I've been taking my time and really savoring the experience). All in all I thought it was vaslty superior to AW or American Nightmare. Also, although Remedy and reviewers said you can play it as a standalone game, I can't imagine it's nearly as enjoyable if you haven't played AW (and the DLCs), American Nightmare, and Control (and the AWE DLC).

That final dialogue in the mid-credits scene was just perfect

Very much looking forward to the two DLCs.

Yeah, this is definitely a concern. Also, because the FBC plays so heavily into AW 2, I wonder if Control 2 will be a crossover with Alan Wake (kind of surprised there are only a couple of references to Jesse in AW 2).
