I am mocking you, not derailing anything.

Would you like to get back to the topic of the thread or nah?
I just thought your "glaze the game or get out" thread was too good to not mock

Okay, so your 1st and 3rd post on a public discussion board were to spark a discussion about a game. There is no discussion to your liking taking place. What do you do now?

I was going to say that this is no longer a place you can discuss games without that subject coming up, but you pretty much asked for it with the second half of the OP.

Have you played Ghost of Tsushima or Rise of the Ronin? If you have, how does the gameplay of Shadows compare (not asking about the story, voice acting, etc.)?

I have beaten Ghosts, and only trial run Rise... I wish they'd make a revamped Tenchu.
The gameplay itself, when it comes to combat, is more fluid and forgiving/not as slow for the opponent to react. It feels more natural as opposed to "OK i press x button, what do you press now Mr Opponent?"
It flows and it's satisfying.
The "direction lines" is what I've noticed is better (not the actual GPS guideline the game gives you during campaign) than the previous ones.

Wow, you're enjoying the combat in Shadows more than GoT? I'll have to watch some streams. The only thing I've really seen so far is Digital Foundry's report that Shadows has the biggest PS5 Pro upgrade over the base PS5 that they've seen so far

I liked Tsushima combat all right, but I was kind of over having to gage what kind of enemy I was fighting and having to switch combat style. Some of them it was tricky determining if they were a sword enemy or sword and shield. Pulling off a counter-instant kill was extremely satisfying, but for the most part the combat seemed like a chore.
I'm only an hour in, but moving around and the little combat I've experienced feels really good.
My early big gripe, the way they set up controller inversion is so asinine. I had to do so many google searches to figure out what needed to be set to what to get it to my liking.

Yeah actually. I was suspect on Shadows vs GoT, but since playing both, ivr realized they never set out to be the same game. It's apples to oranges.
The gameplay of Shadows is smooooothe, no matter the mission. The gameplay of GoT is smooothe, but only when the mission is active... if that makes sense

thank god I do not follow any video game discourse!
Frankly there is too much of it these days with extreme sides and no in between. consider yourself lucky for avoiding it. I am starting to. We are entering an age where gamers are becoming insufferable again.

It's really tiring, and I obviously react poorly to it.
I started a thread a while back just showing the initial teaser or gameplay trailer for Star Wars Outlaws, no comments, just a link to the video. Very first response was how the female protagonist looked like a liberal lesbian/trans or whatever it was.
I should have treated that as a sign and moved away from online game discussions.
ETA: Look up FightinCowboy's rant on his stream about Shadows and he's pretty much now my spirit animal.

Aside from his walkthroughs, I can't stand his content these days. The dude is insufferable. He used to actually be pretty cool/chill back in the day when he was chain smoking and chugging beers during Souls drunkthroughs

What does he do now that you don't like?

I implore you to separate the 2, and that's what we all do as gamers, separate real life from the fake.
Take this game at the surface, without your political affiliations/beliefs
ETA: Added the word "gameplay", for the drifter grifters who want to derail this into their own warped agenda
You make your own thread because you're a crybaby little bitch bitching and moaning about politics in games, then post this shite.
Get fricked you goddamn pussy. YOU are the problem.

In fairness to him, going back to his edit, it was in reply to the very first post being more of the same crap.
Posted on 3/21/25 at 4:20 pm to sicboy
I find him to be very full of himself and arrogant these days. I'm also apolitical and dislike how vocal he's become about politics and social justice stuff. When I watch a streamer, I'm doing it because I want to see them play a game, not preach about right vs. left, woke vs. non-woke BS.
I mean, the dude even announced he was leaving Twitter for Bluesky because he couldn't deal with right-wing people in his replies.
It's like when someone told LeBron to "shut up and dribble."
I just prefer streamers who don't get into all the BS.

Ok, that's fair.
I'll be honest and say I wouldn't watch anyone who was very openly pro Trump/right wing.
