Diablo was at least entertaining for about a week before how fricking horrible it was became apparent. cod sucked right out of the box.

What is it exactly that people don't like about COD MW3? the single player was terrible i agree, but the multiplayer is amazing. I played CS from 1.3 through source. I remember the fan boys crying about it getting worse but in all honesty is got a hell of a lot better. (yes hit box BS in source, but 1.6 was almost perfect)
Multiplayer MW3 is leaps and bounds better than black ops on PC. I think people just get nostalgic over a game and certain maps and can never be happy with new.

Well I have preferred older games for nostalgic reason as well as many of my friends so your "No." apparently is not correct.

Not saying that doesn't happen. I'm saying that's not the reason for the MW3 hate. A lot more reasons than "nostalgia".

Kind of surprised that Civilization is 'getting better'. There was quite a bit of backlash after 5.
ETA: I liked it after I installed the NiGHTS mod. playing it vanilla was kinda shitty.
