And frankly, having a ton of mouse travel real estate isn't super important to me. I just measured, and my dpi is set such that it requires almost exactly 2.5" of horizontal movement to get from one side of my 3440x1440 screen to the other. About 1" of vertical movement to get from the bottom to the top.

Once you account for the fact that my mouse is about 3" wide and about 5" tall, all I actually need is about 6" wide by 6" tall. Though I'll admit I have no doubt that tiny space would cause me actual anxiety

I play a fair bit, but single player big sexy rpgs are my jam.

Not even a little bit. Only games I play with a controller are games that just don't play well with kb/m. Stopping to think for a second, both Ori games and Nier:Automata are the last games I can think of in which I used a controller.

Other games I've played relatively recently were Bioshock Infinite, FO4, and Cyberpunk. Currently girding my loins to no life the absolute frick out of Mass Effect Legendary Edition
