We both had trouble port forwarding our new routers so Muppet rented one for 35 people to start.
My SSD will be here tomorrow, this is the first game I am installing on it, and my TB x12's should also be here since my mic crapped out on my Trittons.

I joined the free trial of GW just to play around & see what's up. I know GW2 seems like the exact opposite of this game but I wanted to get used to the style and stuff. My only MMO experience is FFXI for like 6 years and LOTRO for like a week, but it seems pretty fun so far.
Up for the guild?

So did I. I just got the Turtle Beach X12's. $50 was the most I was going to spend

Definitely, just giving a fair warning there may be a bit of a learning curve for me

Sorry, we are all Guild Wars 2 Professionals. I control my abilities via brain impulses.

Add me to this group also. Went with Thermaltake Shocks since they fit over the ears and were cheap.

I need to get a headset. Suggestions?

don't get turtle beaches. I'm sure the cheap ones are worth it but I got the expensive ones and they are shite.

Dragonbrand is the server of choice.
Seemed the best fit, strong community and WvWvW guilds, but medium population. During the last week Blackgate went to mega-populated.
Both a mega-guild, and a good one at that, and a decent Alliance are running on the server. I may try get us into one of those, but we'll put that to a vote.
And cool name to boot.
I'll repeat for emphasis:
There will be Free Server Transfers for the first few weeks, but I don't think we'll have too many problems getting on the same server.
So Dragonbrand it is.

Just played around during the 1 hour stress test. Had no idea what I was doing as I haven't had time to read much about the game. Is GW2 like WOW in that you cant play with friends who are certain races (alliance / horde)? Also, can you reset your skills if you mess up your character (if that is even possible)?

Yes and No. But mostly No.
You can play with anyone, anytime. There will be guesting options for PvE and sPvP.
The only time you can't play with your friends is if they are on different servers and then you want to play WvWvW. Very specific circumstances.

Yes. That's what class trainers are for.

When is the next stress test? I got the game down loaded but always find out about the stress test to late to play.

Release date for pre purchase is Saturday so I doubt there will be any more stress tests

Will there be a good place (zone) for people to kind of meet up as noobs so they can start doing things in groups together? I only made it to level 10 or so when I played the beta a few weeks ago so I'm not really sure how the migration will be done for each of the races. I'm pretty sure I'll be making a Norn Thief, unless it makes meeting up with others too difficult.

Everyone will be making their early characters, so expect people to be in the starter zones for 3-5 days.
Each race has its own, but you can, as one race, get to another race's zone quite easily. So yes.
It also depends on how fast and how much people will be playing. But because GW has downleveling, that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I'll be doing my early leveling in Queensdale, as usual. I'm not sure about after that, though. I found Kessex Hills a little tedious the first time - maybe the area that connects to Caledon Forest and Metrica Province.

Agreed. I love Queensdale, that was a great zone. I'll be creating a character for each race, so I'll be hopping around some, but my human guardian is my primary character, so early on he'll be getting most of the play time.

just from reading the classes I think I am going either thief or ranger. Any input as to which one is the most useful/fun to play?
