Zatarain’s crawfish boil jar for a sack

So…my wife decided, without my knowledge, that I am boiling a sack of crawfish tomorrow.
Furthermore, she decided she was buying all of the stuff. She got a 4.5lb jar of the zatarains crawfish/crab boil. I haven’t used that in many years, I’ve been using other blends.
I have a 120qt pot. I kinda doubt one jar is good to get a single sack right. Experience? What do you add?

Nice!
One container will work if you only use enough water for the sack. Extra cayenne or liquid boil will only help.

Pot size is irrelevant, it’s based on how much water you add. If uncertain, fill basket with crawfish and place in pot. Fill with water around 1” over crawfish. Remove basket as that’s your “fill line” for 1 sack. Make a witness mark on the paddle or side of basket for future reference.
I add halved, squeezed lemons and liquid boil concentrate along with other vegetables of choice. The Zatarains 4.5# container should be fine.

if you boil 1/2 sack at a time you’ll probably want some backup

I am aware I’ve boiled many times. Just usually boil more than one and don’t use Zat

the zatarains blend is good stuff. It’s the best seller for a reason. Taste your water before you dump and see if it’s hot enough

You are correct, the determining factor is amount of water, but I mean, pot size is usually relevant in terms of how much water you’re going to add.

I find it more a tad more salty than Louisiana.
I do use it with my boil though. I add two cups of Zats when I use the Louisiana big bag and I think it comes out great.
