Zapps — 2025 quality question

It’s been quite a while (few years) since I’ve bought any Zapps. I bought some crawtators yesterday. I think they’re pretty good though I don’t necessarily remember what they were like 10+ years ago.
I know people claim they went to shite with taste and quality when Utz acquired them and shifting them to Pennsylvania.
Anyone with opinions on how the quality or tastes may have improved or getting worse in recent years?

Admittedly I haven't bought them a lot since they were purchased but when I have, it seems like they were under seasoned. They used to be covered. Now they seem like kettle chips with a very light dusting.

I’ve had a few stale bags, but those have been off a shelf at a poboy shop.
I still love them

Nope that plant is closed.

I feel like they used to have more seasoning on them, but they’re still my favorite chips to buy. Crawtaters and voodoo are my favorites.

I think they are kind of bland now. Also the chips seem a little less crunchy.

I bought a bag recently and they were like Lays. Not good.

Bag is packaged half-full with chips that are very lightly dusted with seasoning. You’re paying a premium price for a sub par food product. Common theme when family owned businesses sell out to bean counters wanting to maximize profits.

Voodoo Heat is my go to. My nearby Kroger carries it but HEB doesn't.

Everyone should boycott until they bring back Bee-licious Honey Mustard

They have the consistency of cardboard now.
My new go to is lays kettle cooked Cajun creole flavor.

They seemed to have improved a little recently. Still not like Mr. Ron made them but better than they were.
