had this last week (4 pack) way to Malty/Sweet for me. Didnt have the kick of a big IPA. Way too much Rye, but I guess that is what they were going for??

I like this beer a lot. I do like the Sierra Nevada Rye and the Hop Rod as well. I am not as huge on the Hop Rod. I thought it has plenty of hop kick. Also, I really love rye in beer so that factors in.

I really like the Hop Rod. The other one I was thinking about is the Founders Red RyePA (easy to forget since we don't get that down here)

Your top 3 IPAs/DIPAs

1. The one I happen to have in my fridge
2. The last one I had in my fridge
3. The one I have goals of obtaining but due to the ridiculously pitiful distribution to La I cannot yet get.

I guess I need to try it again... I wasn't impressed at all with Cigar City's stuff that I've had. Jai Alai, Maduro Brown, and the Espresso one... all underwhelming to me.

My thoughts as well. Jai Alai wasn't my favorite.
