Look, I don't know about your reputation or the old food... if it's good food and your beer prices are fair then having some local taps is going to help you get some people in the door. At least as repeat business.

At least in my opinion... get some Canebrake, Tin Roof Blonde, Hopitoulas, Irish Channel Stout if you can, Andygator, Lazy Mag... people will drink them. You don't have to go crazy and try to get a keg of Stone Double Bastard or Barrel Aged Old Rasputin.

I'm sure you came up with 11 taps for a reason not stated. You may not have the option for less, but if it was an option, that may be an idea. BMC's don't need 11 on tap beers, and your investment may be better spent elsewhere in the bar. Shuffleboard!!

I'm no expert, but for a daiquiri place it seems like you'd def want to keep BMC beers on tap.

bud light
bud heavy
miller lite
coors lite
mich ultra
The rest I would go easy-drinking craft beers, mostly local:
Canebrake (And when Parish's other stuff comes out, rotate it. Canebrake, Envie, etc)
Nola Blonde (I would prefer Hopitoulas, but I can't imagine your average daquiri spot customer likes hoppy beer)
Tin Roof Blonde
SA Fancy Lawnmower
Abita Amber
Abita Purple Haze

This. I remember the name nooley's, but haven't been to the new one. Jazz Daddy's is pretty close to the same from what I am told. One day I may make it to the new one, but honestly I don't go to back prairieville that often.

Have some local beers on tap if you are a food place selling beer. If you are trying to be a beer place that sells food then get more taps, a lot more.

Look at Rotolos in Pville, they have 14 and do a decent job for mixing it up. Granted no NOLA, because they have stated over and over that IT DOES NOT SELL!!!

They sold the Parade Ground Porter and it did great. Also they could do more to market their beer selection, but Im not a marketing guru for the burbs.

Nola doesn't sell? Odd. I could see myself picking other beers over their blonde, but hopitoulas, mechahopzilla, and ICS are all damn good beers.

i think he is offended by fact that BigJake is trying to market in a "beer geek" when his tap lineup is anything but appealing to the beer geek

Maybe so, but wishing somebody to fail at their livelihood is childish. Belongs on the OT.

I think they may have had bad luck with a few kegs and are at the point of not taking the risk and taking up space. Maybe with Parade Ground and Canebrake doing better they may take the risk.

The specialty stuff like Mecha or Stone might take a while because you would need people coming in to drink just that. People on the lookout for those two will drink one or two and that would be it. Wouldn't limit their food choices just for those taps.

I asked this here because I love beer, but I mostly drink Bud Light. I've tried lots of local and non local craft beers. I don't get the love for Canebrake, and it seems like the Yats are just NOLA fan boys because I wasn't blown away.

this is the post that pisses me off. you're a beer lover, but drink bud light?

anybody who likes nola is a yat fanboy?

doesnt get the love for canebrake for LOVES bud light?

Afro I appreciate your input. You are knowledgeable and make thoughtful posts.

I would very much like to buy you a beer.

If people think I'm a tool that's fine, I respond to what people say honestly, and I'm the only one here without anonymity. You know who I am and where to find me.

Like I said earlier the info I get from here will be one of many factors in our beer selection.

I hope you all come by and check us out. I'll buy you a beer.
