Would you eat it? Perishable food not kept cold

Ordered some andouille to have shipped to Kentucky. I was told it was not very cold on arrival. She took the temp and it was 64 when it got here.
In the freezer now...assume it's not an issue?

I don't think it's a problem. Smoked and probably has nitrites so it's most likely fine.

Who did you order from? They might have a guarantee.

I think it's fine if smoked. Odd that it wouldn't be cold if shipped overnight with cold packs.

Bourgeois meat market. Apparently not even packed with dry ice.

My answer is, it depends. How long was it in transit? If it went overnight and was still 64 degrees on arrival, I'd eat it. But if it went snail mail and took 3-4 days to get there, probably not.

Nah, Andouille is smoked so it really doesn't need to be refrigerated.

Also, assuming that you're planning to cook it, the heat should kill any bacteria. Just a matter of if the meat spoiled or just tastes bad.
Only one way to find out.
But me? For smoked/cured sausage? frick yeah I'm eating it (after cooking it). Pretty sure people started curing sausage back in the day specifically because cold long term storage was not available.

Won't destroy any heat-stable toxins they've produced.
