Why? It's an alright dive with an above-average selection.
Ivar's has an alright crowd, but from purely 'bar' aspects, it doesnt get any worse. Piss poor selection, filthy draft beer, jacked up prices..nothing good as a functional bar. The only positives are the younger crowd and the back area

Ah, those LSU area bars are decent at what they do. They're just places for large amounts of college kids to get rip-roaring drunk for cheap.
I have a problem with a place like Ivar's, which is overpriced and dirty, with crappy service and a poor beer selection.

I have only been to The Station once, but the people watching was unreal. At least there is that going for it. It is like a who's who of failures and skanks.

The worst crowd has got to be City Bar.... Better than going to an airport to people watch... And Ivars is just terrible...I don't know why people go there... terrible service & prices!
Some friends and I went to The Station this past weekend and had a good time...They have really cleaned that place up! Don't know if new owners or managers but we had fun...
I think the problem with Baton Rouge, is Baton Rouge! Just a lot of dbags everywhere....
