Went to World of Beer on Veterans yesterday, was petty impressed. Great atmosphere.

When you first walk in, you take an elevator up to the second floor (the bottom floor is occupied by Mooyah burger). Plenty of flatscreen tvs, high top wood tables. They have an iPad on each table with their beer selection on it, with a brief description of each beer.

It was a bit pricey, but great selection. They had a food menu as well, but we didn't eat. From what I saw on the plates of people around us, it looked to be a step up from your everyday pub food.

Anybody else ever been there?

ETA: Here's a list of their beers. Great local selection.

I've been. I didn't care for it much. My main complaint was that the beer was lukewarm. The bartenders pour your beer, or get out of the cooler, then it sits on the bar for a few minutes until the waitress brings it to you. Every beer I had was warm. That was when it was fairly new. Haven't been since but will give another shot.

To each his own I guess. On my one visit they were out of 75% beers I ordered and the staff knew absolutely nothing about beer. Would rather go to Lagers if I'm picking somewhere in metairie.

Funny you say that. They were out of my girlfriend's Waterkeeper she ordered. I remember thinking how strange that they wouldn't update their app as soon as they ran out of a beer, it's not like reprinting a menu or anything.

I guess. Or you could fly or scale a wall.

I went the first week they opened and I thought it was pretty good. They were very well staffed and I thought the two bartenders I interacted with were good.

I'm glad they opened so that it helped to motivate Lagers to get a little better also.

Moving to Metry from BR next month, Lagers is a good place to go?

Lagers is pretty good.
I like the Avenue Pub and the mid city Bulldog a lot more than Lagers though.

Both Lagers and WoB are okay.

I keep it in my rotation. Haven't been going as often as I like. Was there last night as well.

Yeah, but both N.O. Bulldogs have much better outside spaces than Lagers

It would be great if they bought that shitty Chinese place and built a nice patio there.

That would be great.
I really don't even want to sit outside at Lagers. It sucks to just have a view of traffic.
Metairie really lacks decent outside drinking space options.

Yeah but what's the view at the bulldog? Traffic and tombs? Magazine has traffic to look at and I guess the added excitement of more foot traffic.

Are you serious? The Canal Street Bulldog has a pretty awesome patio/courtyard.
And even the Mag street location has some shrubbery and a fountain.

Lagers is pretty much 15 feet from either Severn or 20 feet from Vetetans.

I never said it was terrible but the view is traffic (also not far from the street), somewhat hidden with some trees and bushes. Lagers could do the same. Iron fence, bushes, trees, fountain...voila.
