Does it have to be Michelin starred?

Was there in May standout meals include

Le Bon Georges
Bistrot Paul Bert
Allard
Les Cocottes
Chez L’ami Jean
Huiterie Regis
Chez Michel
L’avant comptoir du Marche (other comptoirs as well)
La Gavroche Bar a vins
Plenty others but that’s a good start

Definitely not. I'm looking for quintessential French food, preferably in some kind of interesting setting. Not a fan of modern, minimalist interiors. Thank you for the suggestions! Several of these are on my short list.

Been to all of these, all were great

I also went to Septime in Paris (literally days before they got their Star) and it was very good. It feels very lucky to get to what is now one of the more acclaimed restaurants in the world for the price we did

I want to go to their more casual sister restaurant Clamato

Based on your description, look into Poulette.

L'Ami Jean is a must imo for what you are looking for

Huiterie Regis is wonderful tiny little place for seafood

Eater always puts out a great Paris list

L'Ami Jean
Paul Bert
Cafe des Ministeres
Restaurant Arnaud Nicolas
Ellsworth
Le Grand Vefour
Willis Wine Bar

All these places are classically French, none are particularly fancy, though I think Arnaud Nicolas has a Michelin star. Le Grand Vefour is probably the fanciest space and it's a brasserie, the kind of place you see in movies that take place in Paris.

Didn’t get to go eat at juveniles but bought great wines from there. Place is awesome. Was street next to where we rented apartment.

Le Fooding or the Bistronomy movement great resources for newer age bistros.
