I just bought one in Lafayette for $12. Sounds like some stores are jacking up the price.

Yeah, I am sure this is correct. And the fact that they can.

But is this really substantially better than the barleywines by other small breweries?

Brewed in April, big malt profile at 11%, so ingredients were not cheap. Bottle conditioned in 750ml bottles that are capped and waxed. Designed to be aged. Lots of factors going into this.

It's pretty damn good... would need to really compare with some other good barleywines.

Just picked up one at Steins. $14.99. Wanted to get another one, but there were only two cases left so I figured I'd save some for someone else.

Should have picked up two, one to drink, one to age!

That's my plan later.

I had it on tap at the brewery tour and thought it was great. It's a huge beer but balanced.

Its too malty, needed something to balance it. Pretty things is far superior. Calandros on Perkins has about 3 bottles left.

Calandros on Government said they will have some by 2:00pm today.

This is surprising. They are generally way behind the one on Perkins.

Calandros on Govt has revamped their beer dept. Doing a better job now

Probably should have. Picked up a Double bastard to drink tonight,

BTW, since when has Stein's had that back room opened up? So much more peaceful while shopping when not dodging people left and right. I could actually take the time and read all the labels in peace.

Yup. My theory is that some a-hole bought about 12 bottles for himself.

I typically run to Calandro's after i get off work, and have never had a problem getting new shipments at that time. Someone was waiting to hoard.

Oh, and to the Brasserie La Maison guys. If i come to the meeting next month, can i drop off some homebrews? I have too many, and need to make room.

As in Baton Rouge. No store got more than 2 cases... I only know of three places for sure that got any and they are all sold out. Doesn't add up.
