When you buy it it is corn on the cob but when you pick it and eat it it is an ear of corn but when you throw away the inedible part you are back to throwing away the cob?

Why isn't it either corn on the ear or a cob of corn?

The whole thing is the ear. The kernels are on the cob. Under the husk.

Corn on the cob = Cooked ear of corn or refers to a side with the meal

Ear of corn = one piece of the harvested portion of the corn stalk

Cob = the inedible portion of the ear

Kernel = edible portion of the ear

My question is, you got the hen, the chicken and the rooster. The rooster goes with the chicken. So, who's having sex with the hen?
