As my spiritual guide Simone Weil once wrote, "Religion in so far as it is a source of consolation is a hindrance to true faith: in this sense, atheism is a purification. I have to be atheistic with the part of myself which is not made for God. Among those men in whom the supernatural part has not been awakened, the atheists are right and the believers wrong...An atheist may be simply one whose faith and love are concentrated on the impersonal aspects of God."

I don't know. He talks about the places like they're gifts from the Gods.

Just as the wise have learned not to put too much stock into what I say, so too have they learned the same with glassman.

I am much more purer...liberated.... but not in the sense he is talking about. I am in a great spot.

Purer than Simone Weil? I doubt it. She's a she, BTW.

I'm convinced he's the guy with the minivan covered in political bumber stickers, signs and the electronic scrolling banners.

Anybody else seen that whackjob?

Touche. We all gleam from other posts. You just happen to make no sense some of the time. Working class seafood places? Is one of the worst things ever posted on this board. Everyone who goes to Harbor is a welder? What a fricking joke. Kenner has a higher per capita income than Orleans Parish. How the frick does your premise make sense?

U Mad because deep down you know that Casamento's is for tourists and rich Uptowners. It has been a generation since it was a working class seafood joint. Kenner Seafood is what Casamento's was 50 years ago. Sorry I had to be frank and pithy with you, but we both know it's the truth.

BTW, the owners of Casamento's are from Kenner.

Is still not even close to the quality. Yeah, I am gonna drive 20 minutes one way and get an inferior product? No chance. I'll pay 3 dollars more and save my time and gas. Your classism is growing very tired. Quality is worth the price.

And I agree with you about what has held us back as a city. Boston Club/Whitney Bank BS, but food isn't one of them.

KS's fried shrimp > Casamento's fried shrimp

KS's raw oysters = Casamento's raw oysters

Casamento's fried oysters > KS's fried oysters

I love you, glassman.

Only because the old man died post-Katrina. He lived upstairs in the building for over 50 years.
