Why did most Brewbachers close?

Sherwood was convenient, closed a few years ago. Nicholson was the best one, gone. Government street gone. What happened?

This is what you think about when you wake up?

Very simple money. Expanded elsewhere and when damage occurred money to rebuild was not feasible per owner.

Brewbachers is always just there, waiting on me to remember it exists, and that its still good

Drusilla and Bluebonnet are still open.

Gonzalez is good still

I eat at the Bluebonnet location occasionally. Brewbachers is solid food. Nothing amazing, but solid.

Damage? What damage? Nicholson was nice.

Government location had a fire and has been closed ever since.

Ah. That will do it. Guess insurance didn't pay enough.

Nicholson closed due to landlord issues and limited parking. Government burned and they are going to rebuild but are in a legal battle with the insurance company. All the other stores are doing well. Also the owner has health issues and his sons are running it now but they have other business ventures that keep them from wanting to expand. They are good people

I thought original owners got out of all of them
I believe they only had one left at one point and maybe the son owns that one
The one in Gonzales still does well but it has nothing to do with the dicharry that started them and the Gonzales one is renovating their location
They have a lot more competition these days

The Gonzales one is probably the best of them all. I like Brewbachers, it is good for what it is. Bigger menu where pretty much everything is solid.
Would be nice if the government location could move in across the street at the old government taco.

He died a few months back. But the sons have been running the day to day operations since the 90s.

I lived on that Chicken BLT sandwich at least once a week for years from the Nicholson location. Always a big chicken breast, fresh bun, loads of crispy bacon, and a ton of fries.

I’ve always thought Bluebonnet was the best - I remember Nicholson making me feel a little iffy a couple of times.
But what I miss is their milkshakes.

Chicken croissant was a silent assassin.

The love for a mediocre chain restaurant exhibited in this thread is an example of why Baton Rouge can't have nice things.

I also have never understood the love for this place. It was not good the several times I went when I was in college ~10 years ago. Tasted like a burger and fries you’d get at a sporting event.
