My kids always want Pan Perdu for breakfast and I'm looking to get a little more creative.

What ya got?

Make some 'cannoli' french toast.

Mix Ricotta cheese (1 cup) with powdered sugar (1/4 cup)

Flatten bread, place scoop in the middle, and pinch sides.

Proceed as normal.

Sprinkle top with powdered sugar, cinnamon, and chocolate chips. And syrup of course.

I love a french toast and toad in the hole combination, one of each - not combined. Here's the toad in the hole.

The best french toast i have ever eaten was at the westin hotel on time square NY. The room service was expensive but worth it! The french toast changed my life.

I use day old French bread that I let soak in a wash of egg, half & half, sugar, vanilla and nutmeg. Fried in oil until golden brown and sprinkled with powdered sugar. It's simple, but tasty and filling.

I use McCormick's vanilla, butter and nut extract for the kids and they love that. I also use Cajun Power vanilla cinnamon sugar rather than just sugar and cinnamon. Breads vary as to what I have on hand. French, ciabatta or whatever bread... I use whipping cream or 1/2 and 1/2. Everyone requests that I make it frequently, so I think they like it a lot. My niece had me make for the day of her wedding for she and her out of town bridesmaids.
