I'am interested in trying it. One of the traditional ways to eat it is on Rye bread with raw onion. The strong smell is from the particular bacteria that is used to ripen the cheese. Maybe we can start a weird food tasting thread.

Limburger isn't that weird.

Civet coffee. Now that is weird.

That's the coffee from the bucket list, right?

Have only had it in a beer. Would give it a shot, butt the price is a lot to ask

I’ve only ever heard of it on the old Little Rascals/Our Gang shorts.

A decent limburger smells like a decaying body.

My parents and grandfather used to eat it when I was a kid in PA. Smelled so bad, I would leave the kitchen when they got it out. Never have had the desire to try it.

I've smelled it before...smelled like vomit.

However, I would eat it just to say I did.

On "weird" foods, I am going to England in a couple months, and can't wait to try some haggis. Don't care if I barf all over my fellow travelers. I'm gonna eat some. I've heard the "king's rib" is pretty gross too. May try that as well.

Had friends at LSU that liked to prank each other by using the spare key to place Limburger in each other's apts in suit pockets, shoes, bedsheets, corner of microwave ovens..

Bring some to Murphy's in ziplocs, then drop it in winter trench coat pockets from behind on unsuspecting frat bros..

Drunkenly drop some in the cheese sauce bin of Shoney's at 3AM and enjoy the smoke and smolder of drunks freaking out unaware..

Smear it on the phone of the Shoney's cashier then run right outside to use the payphone to call them and watch their reactions.

The Great Limburger War of 1989..I'm a survivor.

Great stories, the dead body smell is a game changer for me. Not sure if I even want to bring in the house. If I get some, I will post about it here.

I only know it from the Three Stooges. I've always wanted to try it but have never seen it.

3 Stooges, too. Curly stunk himself up with it somehow.
