I've never lived in New Orleans, but I enjoy reading that "Blake Pontchartrain" history column, as well as "Julia Street with Poydras the Parrot" in myneworleans.com.
I wish Shreveport still had a decent history column. Someone would have to do it for free. The Times could have picked up the Journal's excellent history writer for about $100 a week when the Journal closed, but they didn't want to spend the money even though it was the most talked about column in town.

Bud has been dead for like 40 years, ownership of the franchise has changed hands twice since then most recently in like 2015 i read. Service and quality has been slipping the last four years or so. i avoid that place now

there was a thread about it on there. Lee was a franchise owner and Buds tried to strong arm him but threatening to take away the franchise if he didnt pay more. So he rebranded and serves the exact same stuff.
