Wow. That is some serious price gouging. The 15 is 75 and the 20 is 125 for the store owner.

I don’t think any of us knew what was starting to happen at that time. Insane to think what some are paying now for $100 bourbon.

Since you mention pappy prices, my post from back on page 1 almost two years ago is a bit funny with the benefit of hindsight

Bourbon drinkers, has anyone tried the Jefferson's 18 year Presidential Select? This stuff is incredible. I've never had Pappy 15 or 23 but I would out this up there with Pappy 12 year Lot B and Pappy 20.

Mark my words...this will become the new Pappy the next few years when PVW gets too hard to find...

And yes, I got another bottle of it for Christmas...just about as good as it gets, and though pricey, not an outrageous price tag

ETA: Not up there with Pappy 20, but not too far below

You have been to the mountain top, very envious of that pic! I’m still at base camp, I go nuts if I can get McKenna 10, but enjoy the hunt.

How is that one? I have it but haven’t cracked it yet

It’s definitely a high rye bourbon, get a ton of spice and even some pepper flavors. Overall pretty good, but haven’t decided if it’s worth the price yet or not.

I've decided it's not. That was one of my biggest regret purchases of 2021. I wound up giving it away after several attmepts to drink and like it, and my friend gave it to someone else after the same experience.

I say it's a try before you buy, because there are some out there who are fans. There are just as many who are not though, and $80+ is a steep price point for something that is not well regarded.

1PD was Johnnie Drum
2PD is Noah’s Mill
I’ve become a Willet fanboy over the last several months.

Ironically the pot still is their worst product. I happen to think it's ok, but it's not nearly as good as it used to be (was a single barrel and they switched to small batch). Even though the age statement has been dropped, I haven't noticed a similar decline in quality for Noah's mill. It's still great. Johnny drum, pure Kentucky, and rowan's creek are reasonably priced and pretty easy to find. Pure Kentucky always does great in blinds for me.
