I mentioned a bit ago that sometimes bourbon does not taste right some nights (not very often) but earlier this week everything tasted hot, no depth at all. Kinda scary. This next bottle, which is a toffee bomb, tasted hot. Next morning I took a home covid test to see if that was it but tested negative. Maybe bad allergies that day.

Back when I had Covid, after I got over it and was slowly getting my sense of taste back, I couldn’t drink bourbon, scotch nothing because of exactly that. Everything tasted hot.

yeah it was weird, never that bad.
Thank God when I had covid at the end of January it was not a big deal. No smell and taste issue, just a bad cold.

What you eat will effect everything. Spicy and acidic foods will make whiskeys come in hot. I generally don’t drink whiskey after I eat anything like this. I stick with wine or cocktails
