I’ve seen that bottle a quite a few times on the shelf and have passed because I wasn’t sure if it was worth the $ but at the Zuppardos bourbon event I was able to sample it and I really enjoyed it. Whenever I see it again I will grab it but now that I’d like to grab one, I haven’t seen it anywhere.

That's a good bottle. I like it quite a bit. There was an initial wave around here two weeks ago and a restock this last week. I think you'll be able to find it soon.

My whiskey brothers. I’m driving from Mobile to Dallas in a week to visit my brother. He can’t get Buffalo Trace out there. Is there a place not far off the interstate somewhere that I can hop off and grab him a few bottles and get going again? Is there anywhere that I can count on to have some in stock?

That bottle is extremely available here. If you stay on I-10, when you get to the Nola/Metairie area just look for any big grocery store and they will have it for sure. Rouses, Walmart, Sams, Winn-Dixie, etc.

If you’re driving anywhere near Nola going from mobile to Dallas, you’re going way out of your way

Depending on your route it’s pretty easy to find in the Lafayette area

There's a reasonable route that'd take you through Slidell. There's a rouses right off gause Blvd that should have plenty of it. It's off I 10 instead of 12 but only about a mile from the interchange.

This. You should be hopping on I12. In Mandeville, there are plenty of places not far off the interstate to get BT. A couple store picks out right now as well.

I can't seem to find Buffalo Trace in the BR area. I see everyone saying Rouses has it but I check Rouses / Juban frequently and they never have it. Do they have it at Drusilla?
I check Bin Q, Callandro's and Beverage Store also and never see it.

Anyone try the stellum black labels yet? It's kind of funny they're already releasing something at 100 bucks, considering part of the motivation for the line was to create something more accessible/affordable. Now they're going over the prices of seagrass, dovetail etc.

Fpd. Been looking forward to trying this.

In the last few weeks, I've acquired several good bottles around this price point (Remus, wj decadence, bookers). This blue run is a cut above imo.
The rye spice is apparent, but not overwhelming. I'm getting rich caramel, some fruit, and a little oak. Slight ethanol on the nose and those who drink lower proofs might find it slightly hot, but to be expected for its age and proof. Overall, it's delicious.

Tried both of them this morning actually
The rye is better to me. Super smooth and lots of flavors layered in. Drank way below the proof. I could see it being worth the upcharge, maybe. Bourbon was good but not $100 good imo. The bourbon reminds me of Martin's Barrel Sherry finished private release , but that is 130+ proof and is $10 cheaper. Keep in mind these were both neck pours, so in theory they should get better.

I've got five stellum bottles on hand (two unopened) so I'm thinking I should probably kill a few of those first. Good to have confirmation they're not ripoffs. I'll grab the rye if I decide to get one. I like the LBC and regular rye versions more than their bourbon counterparts.

Interestingly enough the black rye tastes almost nothing like the standard rye to me. No licorice at all in the black, probably why I liked it so much.
