I need to get seagrass. I've come close to buying a few times. I like everything I've had from Barrell
This nulu neck pour is just ok. Strong dill note and thin mouth feel.

If you’ve had Dovetail, it’s similar to that. I find it’s a little rounder, the first half of my Dovetail bottle was a bit harsh.
It’s really good, IMO. I’m probably going to grab another bottle.

Coming back to this one after letting it open for a few months, hopefully it’s better now than I remember

It would be a good mixer. It's not great to sip if I'm being honest. It's one of the few in the liquor store I frequent that's always on the shelf but I've never tried.

Yeah, I see it around, but I’ve never really heard much about it. I guess that’s why

I actually haven't had dovetail either. I had a trade lined up for a bottle, but it fell through. I'm going to buy seagrass next time I see it.
Second pd is unsurprisingly fantastic.

Found some bourbons in great white north this spring/early summer that are tasty.
They are:
ER
4 roses single barrel
Weller 107
Michters
They are all really good and are different, some spicy, others more smooth etc
I have enjoyed all and was able to get 2 bottles of each. Not sure any will displace Blantons as my go to higher end bourbon but its nice to try them.
Surprisingly Blanton is fairly easy to get in Ontario
Cheers

Obvious SIAP but is Pappy Van Winkle THAT good?
I recently saw Heist on Netflix and I'm not much of a bourbon guy and the story obviously peeked my curiosity.

Everyone has a different level of that good. I mean, I find the 15 and 20 to be fine sippers most years but you won’t catch me paying secondary for them. It’s not the stitzel weller juice of old. Hell, if you want to see the difference that makes just look at how Saz 18 has gone downhill since the steel tank juice ran out.

I am traveling to Italy (Rome, Naples, Amalfi) at the end of September. Anyone know if it's worth whiskey hunting out there? I'm hoping I could find some scotches to bring back (or even bourbons that get shipped out) that I wouldn't normally be able to find here, but I'm also wondering if it's even worth the cost of bringing it back.
