I guess I should have paired these up sooner.

You boys get the bayou boys KC pick?

I’m grabbing 2 bottles of the KC. Ones for my coworker. I think I’m starting to only get SiB/store picks unless I come across something hard to get.

First pour Widow Jane 10yr.

I had a single barrel that I wasn’t a fan of, because I’m not big on the Dickel profile, it wasn’t “bad”, just not my preference. Had a Kentucky single barrel from them a couple days ago, and that was great.

I really want to try their new brand Stellum.

LPD for me is this Rouses BT pick, I remember it being pretty good but I haven’t re-visited in a while.

Donny has a massive bourbon collection we’d all be jealous of. Don’t sleep on his picks. His Smooth ambler 107 is outstanding as well.

I just got their KC pick last week. Hopefully it's a good one. I have found their store picks to be a little inconsistent, but nothing has been bad.

I'm starting to realize I really prefer those younger Barrell batches. Both 27 and 25 are 1a/1b depending on the day.

Yeah, I skipped on 28 because it was only 10-11 year barrels. I like the bright/youthful notes from the younger MGP.

ETA: also I know their older Dickel stock is low proof, so the proof of the batch can give you can idea of how much Dickel is in it. For example, batch 27 is ~116 proof and batch 28 is ~109 proof.

It's definitely interesting. The wife said it smells good enough that she'd like to try it, and she doesn't like whiskey. Can't decide if that's good or bad.

That makes sense. 28 had been growing on me more and more each time I take a pour, but it's still not where 25 and 27 are. 24 has potential coming off the nose, but it falls flat to too much of a super standard Bourbon profile. And for that I'd choose WT101 to scratch that itch any day of the week. I actually just used the 24 as the bourbon component in my attempt to recreate HW Campfire.
