UCUF is bold and delicious imo.

This is something I expect to be near the top of my end of the year blinds.

I think this is the step below that. Think that bottle is like $60, this one was only $40.

Aquistapaces in Mandeville has the whole selection.

This is the time of year I start doing blinds to narrow down favorites from the year. These are all twice barreled ryes. It's not the best picture: kluke batch 2, peerless double oak (Maisano's pick), and JD TB special release.

Results: JD, KLuke, Peerless. I was a bit reluctant to put JD in there due to the proof deficit, but it obviously wasn't a problem overall. The JD has the best nose by far (roasted marshmallows over a campfire). The palate shifts to more oak and spice than you'd assume from the nose. The finish is medium and a bit dry. That was the only advantage for the other two.

The KLuke nose and palate were essentially identical. There's a little ethanol, but it's bold and has some complexity. Peerless drank more like a bourbon, probably due to the contrast of the Indiana spice in the KLuke. While it's very good, I want it to be a little more apparent I'm drinking a rye. The spice isn't quite where it needs to be.
